Hey! My gf and I just recently cut down three males from our crop. They were all about 5-6 feet tall and fairly bushy. We used most everything from the plants. Used two sticks of butter in two pots (for a total of 4 sticks). Boiled those suckers down for a few hours and strained them using the cheese cloth. I tried to squeeze as much "juice" as I could out of the scraps while in the cloth. We then stuck them in the fridge over night. This morning we got up, and sure enough, there was our very neon green disc. However, there certainly wasn't 4 sticks of butter worth. When we melted it down, it only came out to half a cup. No matter, we went ahead and made the brownies. We JUST finished eating some. We used an 8x8 pan and used all of the half a cup of butter. The taste wasn't too bad, but they were still a little mushy when we ate them. I think thats because we couldn't wait for them to cool off We cut them into a little over 1x1 in. pieces. We weren't sure how big everyone else's pieces were when they said they ate like 2 or 3, so we ate about two of these. Gonna see what happens, if no effect, we'll eat some more and see. Hopefully everything turns out!! I'll keep ya posted.

As of this post, I've made Cannabutter twice basically following directions here. In a coffee grinder, I ground dried lower bud and clippings. I boiled this and butter (first time) or margarine (second time) in a pot. I put this in a crock pot on high over night. I strained and solidified. The second time I did this, I remelted the canna-margarine in water a second time to cleanse.

I used butter for the first batch. I made brownies. These tasted okay but were too rich and, I'm afraid, a little gritty.

I used margarine and different plants for the second batch. I used this canna-margarine to make cookies. I made two types and two strengths. The first Chocolate Chips were too potent. I had to cut the recipe in half--half canna-margarine/half margarine. The second batch was Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip with raisins. They were great!

Use a cookie mix that requires only butter and liquid. I added a table spoon of peanut butter to each batch. Excellent.

Next time I do this, I think I'll cook without grinding. My thought is that--I believe--the THC is on the outside of the plants and doesn't need to be freed with grinding. It could be washed off.

Ok, so I posted earlier about the brownies that my girl and I tried, and a few hours later, my girl is passed out hard and I'm staying up just to stay alive. haha, seriously THAT HIGH. 4 brownies were def. enough. I hope its not against a rule to post while this bad under the influence or not, but if it is, i'm sorry! just wanted to update.

Just chopped three plants a few days ago and decided to make some of your famous cannabutter. Using about 1/4 oz of popcorn nugs and about 1.5oz of trim for the first batch.

I'm hoping all will go well! expect the results soon~

well they were moist, gooey, and delicious, and the high has put me on my ass for the entirety of today. I only ate one of the twelve I made in the 8x8 pan and I'm higher than I have been in quite a while

I think of it more in terms of surface area. if you toss a nug in there it has alot of surface area not exposed. So I like to grid it up, but not to the point where it makes it really fine, then its harder to strain it all out.

Hello Karma & all other Chef's

Again cooking with cannabutter removes my pain that the doctor's pain pills do not.......again I say thank you Karma..........

hey scrub just FYI...the Tric's {the crystals on the leaves} is what we seek....and be forwarned that if you boil at to high a temp it will have a adverse affect on the THC....just simmer...not boil.....and I to use the crock pot overnight it works great and keeps the temp's from getting to high.......so in short you do not have to grind before using....

we had some Garlic bread the other night with dinner.......
.......sliced open the french loaf
........spread with cannabutter
.........sprinkel sweet basil, salt, and garlic powder
.........preheat oven to 400
........place bread in oven, top shelf 10 - 12 minuets or until all the butter melts and bread becomes crispy.....
........slice and serve with soup, salads or dinner

by the time dinner is over you will be ready big time for desert....

Cheers Daltron, thanks for the kind words. Nice recipe. BUt remember, if it gets too hot some of the THC will evaporate. Don't wanna risk losing all that THC you saved by not boiling. Maybe an even more potent way would be to warm the butter till it melts. Then spread it on the bread that has been baked already. But either way, sounds delicious.
