Karma: Another pain patient here...I just finished making the butter...it's in the fridge cooling even as we speak.

I'm going to make some brownies or fudge with it...brownies are the most likely.

I'm going to report on the effects in the next 24 hours, but wanted to that you, Karma for the thread.

I used about 3 fingers of powdered material...it was very good quality material...

MrsCyborg has never got a buzz with weed...it has very little effect on her(go figure)...we'll see what a couple o' brownies and an ice cold glass of milk will do.

Hash is next if this doesn't get her wagon rolling.

Hardly anyone follows up on a baking project, except when it takes them three days to be able to form sentences again.

The batch of brownies turned out okay. The quality of the brownies are good...the recipe is a very good one.

They aren't potent enough for my tastes...I need to use a full oz of materiel in the next batch.

Karma's recipe for the cannabutter is good. I doubled up the cheesecloth and cannot detect any grit or plant material in the brownies...I ended up simmering the margarine for several hours...

Anyway...stronger batch next time.

welcome back into the world...3 days? wow ....yep them brownies did the trick for my Mrs.

next time double up and or try to lower the temp a little bit to make sure that you are not evaporateing anything....... .....a full oz of the lower buds is what i use.......

BTW that BOG LifeSaver I was growing...you should try it.....big time pain relief......and JW you know me and my pain .....I think this would help anybody in our condition......and to stay on topic I'm baking choclate chip and cannabuter cookies as we speak......with a full oz of the LifeSaver bud.....looks like I wil get 30 cookies...will be back with taste and effect report

Well, got another batch of cannabutter in a pie pan cooling in the fridge even as we speak.

The general rule of thumb that I've used all these years was an oz per batch...I didn't know, since this is the first crop and the first batch thereof...didn't have enough, er, body...

I put between 1-1 1/4oz of nicely frosted lower buds...if I'm gonna get fat eating them, at least they should kick azz.

If it will solidify tonight, I'll do a batch of brownies or maybe a batch of pecan/dark chocolate chip cookies...

Karma: Not wanting to hijack your very helpful thread here, just want to add a little somthin'-somthin'.

I made a batch of cookies following a the basic Toll-House recipe on the back of chips, with a few exceptions:

Wondering if I could cook with Splenda...my arss gets wider every time I walk by a brownie...I used regular Splenda for the white sugar, and tried Splenda brown sugar in place of, well, brown sugar.

The cookies came out like very tasty scones. As I mentioned, I sub'd dark chocolate chips, and I roasted a well rounded cup of pecans in the preheated oven, until fragrant...the nuts really do allot to camouflaging the weedy flavor from the cannabutter.

Still waiting if eating them turn me into a slobbering idiot. There is always hope,,,

Well, I have not done any editing to show a time line. The batch still isn't overpowering. I munched on 3 of 'em and am finding myself with a case of the stares(You know, all of a sudden you realize although you are looking in a particular direction, you really aren't completely focusing on anything...)

MrsCyborg has been feeling bad with body pain for days...She took some prescribed pain meds and they weren't relieving her pain. I gave her one of the current batch of cookies and is now in bed. ******Sleep Well, 2of2*****

i use all my males and trim from females. did several batches,(5). did the males just as the sex was evident. power dried all mat'l in dehydrater. into shopping brown bag till it was full, jammed full! using hands, i scrunched into smaller pieces. then into food processer, mabe 1/2 oz/time, and ran for a short time, 4-5 sec, till the mat'l was approx 1/16"-1/8" dia/ea. (increased surface area?) very messy, do in garage. my batch size averaged 1/2 bag chopped mat'l. (1/2lb?) 5 gal pressure cooker 3/4 full water/1lb butter. brought to rolling boil, added mat'l and stirred under full boil until i saw the water boiling thru the top of the mat, this took a bit of time. lowered heat and place lid loosely and simmered for 3-4 hrs. stirring every 15 min. or so. obvously one needs a few more lg pots for the next steps, dumped thru colender. the mass that is left tho is where most of the butter is!!! this i cant stress enuf! after it cooled for a few, i wore one of the neoprene green kitchen gloves and ladeled into pot covered with cheesecloth a cup or so @ a time of the mass and squeezed! twisted! squeezed! one can see the allmost pure butter coming out. (a bro of mine has a set up using blocks attached to 5 ton press) a little boiling water to wash out 5 gal to the colender juice. the liquid now poured back thru cheesecloth,(i try to use the same piece chees cloth thruout) back into 5 gal pot, the stuff i squeezed out was re-added, (i squeezed into 2 cup metal bowl) and rinsed with a bit of boilng water and into fridge or other cool spot. so now, u should have all liquid in the original pot that is strained. next morning, pry the butter cake out, dump the liquid out, scrape remaining butter off pot sides with butter knife, (what else? ). then under cold water gently wash off the gunk from the underside of the butter cake. my results- start with 4 sticks butter/batch, end up with 3 3/4 sticks. [my bro says he ends up 4/4, but he a fanatic (5 ton press?)]. i use store bought cookie mixes that call for 1 stick /batch, and make the cookies according to receipe. 2"dia./ea. 1 cookie is strong, 2 cookies makes speech hard, 3 cookies like mexican mud . i used margerine for 1 batch and didnt like the results, waaay softer/harder to wash. taste is just a hint of ganja, cookies actually good. just my

BTW, my spouse has recurrent breast cancer and tho she is stable for now, she does have occasional siatic nerve pain. she dont use ganja, but she did one evening, eat 2 cookies. took the pain away but she couldnt keep the eyes open, just kept chillin' and remarking "man am i stoned!" says she will NEVER eat 2 of em again. again, just my , isnt it odd that the gov. makes her take narcs. for pain that totally fuuks up the guts, (:fuuking rock hard bullets), doesnt sleep very well on narcs but cant do a cookie that gives relief and she goes into a nice nod? go figger

Been reading more on eating the makings for pain. I have not yet done this and look forward to it shortly. I became completely disabled this year and smoking allowed me to start walking again. Sounds like Canna Butter is something I need to keep in the arsenal. Yes it is a shame and a sham that the government would even want to stop the use of such a good medicine with so little side effects.
Have now printed up the recipe from here and I thank you.
Will post whenever the butter happens.
