if its badly molded. your best off just chunking it.

but if theres only a little bit of mold, its fine for making cannabutter. The mold generally floats to the top and you can skim it off.

Dont make canna butter with it.

that was one source I found.....

And AB is also defintaly right mold tends to float.....

Id say if anything do the ice water hash.... Even better grow a new stash.

Hey KP great thread.

I just put my first batch"O"butter in the fridge. Man does it stink cookin. My wife sprayed air freshner. Now I have a bad smell in my nose, and a bad taste in my mouth.

Hope this works out. I'm in between grows and that was all my grass clippins !

The next grow is about done. I'll save more of the trim from the buds this time for the endeavor. Oughta make for a pretty intense Thanksgiving .
I'll report back on the results maybe tomorrow. Or maybe not, hope I don't forget to pick the kids up from school.

make yourself some cannabutter. turned my trash to stash! a stash of MnM cookies! Whew! it took 3 cookies but oh that works just fine. about an hour to hit. i had about a big sherbert container of male leaves and trim. used 2 sticks of butter. made a 5 dozen batch of party cookies. ate them this morning and still going weeehaaa. it's kinda weird to get high without smoking something. .

Is it better to grind the trim up, chop it up a little or just leave it as it is?

its better to just grind up all ur extras and add to the batter. compensating for dry ingredients of course

Whatever works for you. I cut the stems up last time. But next time I won't use the stems because it's harder to strain it. Don't put no weed in yer batter sir......you have to strain it out. The thread says to use cheesecloth but thats in no stores around here. I use panty hose. Not to wear, to strain with!

grind it up nice and good, gives it more surface area exposed.....so the thc can be extracted better

i agree with creeper, dont eat any of the weed literally, makes the cookies and such gritty and is unecessary. just make the canna buttter with everything. and strain out the weed and toss that stuff out.

I had a thought - wrap the trim in a coffee filter and dump that into boiling water until it sinks. Then add a few ounces of vodka. Add the butter last after simmering a few minutes. The vodka will increase the soluability of the THC in the water considerably, but it will also boil off pretty quickly - leaving the THC nowhere to go but the butter. Perhaps add alcohol a couple times to make sure it does a good job. Sort of a wet alcohol extraction.

That should eliminate straining entirely and reduce the amount of butter that is lost to soaking into the herbage. Simply allow it to cool and pop the frisbee off the top.

I'll give this a try with my next batch in a month or so.

hmm interesting thought.....the alcohol should evaporate off before the water so i would assume that would work....id use everclear...since it has a higher proof however. Let us know how that works out.

I like to keep all my trim/herb floating around then strain it all out..i feel it has more surface area exposed...that might just be me though
