I'm in the process of making some fresh cannabutter as we speak

This is my first time, and this sounded like the easiest method so I figured I'd give it a shot . . .

I used about 25 grams of mostly bud and some trim from 1 plant and 2.5 sticks of margarine in about 10 cups of boiling water. So far it's been boiling for 2 hours, and it looks like I still got another hour to go at least. I can't wait to have some brownies!! I'm going to let the butter sit in the fridge tonight, and hopefully get to making the brownies tomorrow night.

I might have to take a sample before I go to work on some toast though

BTW, my apartment STINKS like bud and spinach

Well the cannabutter was a success!! I will be making my brownies in about an hour, so I should be feeling great in a little bit!!

I made some toast this morning before I went to work and melted some of the cannabutter on there . . .It's definately some potent shit b/c I only used a LITTLE bit, and was feeling REAL nice on the train into work

ive made butter quite a few times with a recipe fairly similar to karmas but this time im going to use the ridiculous amount of kiff i have acquired over the past couple of months. Does anyone have a good ratio for kiff when using it to make butter?

I just made your canabutter for the first time ever. I used 2.5 sticks of butter 10 or so cups of water and as much bud-trimmings as I could fit in the pot. I followed all the instructions up until the actual brownie part. I didn't have any mix, or $$ to go get some (How funny is that, oodles of weed but no $$) so I put some on pancakes. I cannot covey how strongly I recommend against this!! It tasted so awful I couldn't finish the whole thing. It literally made me ill. Close to vomiting I stopped about half way through the stack; later I discovered this was a good thing. About 15-20 minutes later, as my stomach began to settle, I felt it creeping in...But it kept coming...and coming....and coming!!! Within another 45 minutes I was a useless, couch-bound puddle finding myself completely engrossed in my Son's Baby Einstein video.
During infrequent and brief periods of pseudo-clarity I began to feel a little claustrophobic in knowing that this high wasn't going anywhere soon, and there was nothing I could do to accelerate the process. However within a second or so, I would see an interesting shape and the feeling would disappear again.
Five hours later I went to bed, or I should probably say I passed out. Slept beautifully, then woke up, STILL STONED!! This was a scheduling error on my part as I had to be at work by eight this morning. As calling in wasn't an option, I stumbled into work and blamed my slow responses and "Down" demeanour on a hang over. Even after I came down, at about 10am (16 hours after eating it) I was still hazy all bloody day. In summary, dedicate a whole day to this stuff. I have smoked for years, and this set the bar, never have I been higher for 1/4 the time.

I'm with you on this weraise . . .this recipe is the shit!! I was out of my mind for a good 6 - 7 hours after eating a couple of brownies . . . I made the mistake of eating 2 becuase it wasnt working fast enough . . .little did I know that I wasn't going to be coherent in about an hour or so

i loved the butter i got from karma recepie. One hint dont add to much buds. I made three batches. one i added a BUNCH of plant material and my friends and i all felt sick to the stomach and passed out cold

I used about 25 grams of some real good bud and 2.5 sticks of margarine. I think they came out perfect. The brownies tasted like regular brownies, no nasty taste at all . . .

So today is budder making day for me. I stopped by this thread to refresh my memory from last time. I noticed that the OP said to scrape off the "gunk" that sticks to the bottom of the budder disc... I had left that stuff previously. It looked like there were lots of trichs in there... Is it useless to leave that stuff in the budder? Should I be removing it?

All the THC is in the butter fat by now. The water gets the waste.

I love this recipe too. I only use about 4 cups of water though. I think this calls for more.

k.p. thanks for the great recipe! originally i had started out simmering the scraps in straight butter over really low heat. after a few batches of the resulting dirt cookies i switched to a double boiler and the results took a while longer but tasted so much better. this method saves a whole lot of time and works just as well. thanks!
