![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, well, it can get to -40 around here, so we think about things freezing a lot more than most people... Actually have to credit C.C. with this one- he showed it to me.

1st off, try heating up the plate and then take a rollin paper and scrub the plate with it. Then you can just roll the joint upo and the paper will be covered in resin but be VERY gentle, or you will rip the paper. 2nd, You might want to let it sit longer than 48hrs, I let my sit for 4-5 days. I've made lots of hash oil in my days and trust me, its better to let it sit for a couple days Goodluck and good job![]() Smoker ![]()

![]() | Thanks Smoker! I tried that a little with a blunt paper. It was nice. More days makes a noticable impact on the yeild? Great! I read some people just straining through Everclear for a few minutes, and some like a week. So, I figured I would try just a couple of days. The liquid got so dark I figured it was saturated. If so, then I needed more Everclear. Do you have a general idea of what ratio of Everclear to Plant Volume you need? Of course, part of it was I was just impatient and running low on bud. (First grow, still buying this stuff.) But I would love to compare the difference if I wait a week. Again, thanks all for the help and feedback. THC

![]() | I assume it's possible to do this with isopropyl alcohol, but would I be correct in making this assumption?

...but isopropyl lacks the purity of grain alcohol and because of that most will not use it. "Everclear" is the brand of choice of most "purists" who choose to use alcohol for extraction! pOOn ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You can't get Everclear around here- so we use isopropal. Isopropal is poisonous, whereas Everclear isn't- that's why I'd use it if I could. Just make sure that you've evaporated all the solvent before you smoke!

![]() | Phread, I don't know where you are, but you can't get regular Everclear in California either. (Used to live in L.A.) But you can get Everclear or Bacardi 151. That's pretty high proof. Can you get that? I would use 151 before I would use Isopropal. THC

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nope, can't get that here either (Alberta, Canada). I've seen* Everclear, and recently someone smuggled some 151 in (Yeaow! People actually drink that stuff?), but that was the first time I'd seen it. And wouldn't using 151 add the "rum" flavour to the oil?

![]() | Wow, is banning 151-190 proof everywhere in Canada, or is that just a localized law? Yeah, I believe the rum would probably leave a bit of a sweet aftertaste, but I would think it would be better than the aftertaste of isopropal. But I guess it's possible to evap it all off, since I tasted no alchohol aftertaste with Everclear. THC
