I really wouldn't think that 'maximum potency' would be retained in resin from already smoked weed, due to the high heat needed to burn the original weed.

There is a difference between Hash and Resin. Resin is your "trash" so to speak. You can recycle your "trash" by smoking it, Im sure we all do, why wouldnt we? It gets us high right? Hash on the otherhand is in pure form. I didnt say pure THC, thats not the case, thats never the case, however it does have high concentration oh THC, higher than that of resin. Hash, oil or nug, will give you a clean and lasting high, different and similar to resin in your own way.

Resin is not hash, that is confused by many. Resin is solidified smoke particles which happen to contain some THC. Hash is EXTRACTED from the actual plant, bud, leaf, and stem, usually byh alcohol. Others have used butane to do this but you need to create a sort of chamber thats airtight, otherwise your butane will just evaporate. In my personal experience, the best way to make hash is using Bubble Bags. A few guys created these and its a very ingenius way to extract out the hidden treasures in your shake, leaf, and stem. It uses water and ice to breakdown the plant matter and gets filtered through screens. As you pull each bag out the screens get finer and finer leaving you will a whitish gray liquid, it doesnt turn brown at thispoint yet! What you have now is a trichome liquid. There are many other ways of extracting trichomes, or crystals as its more commonly known. When you get this just place it on some foil and let it dry for a week or so and you have some of the most potent, tastey hash you can imagine, ofcourse, you have to try it for yourself to really know how good it is. Trust me. Its gooood

NO

Try it. You will just end up solvating ALL of the resin, which is what you began with anyway. NOte: you COULD extract the THC with butane or hexane, but not with ethanol

Is acetone the same as the nail polish remover? and if used (acetone) does it give the same results as ethanol?

Acetone used to be the major ingredient in nail polish removers. However, most nail polish removers today do not contain acetone. And, yes, acetone will work about the same as ethanol as far as efficiency and quality go.

A cheap alternative to Everclear is Canadien Clear. It's 190 proof grain alcohol and sells for about US$8.00 for a 750 mL bottle. Definitely available in the northeast.
