![]() | Which way would you suggest? I have two examples for you who have small imaginations... =P Also, please comment on my lighting setup... and remember this is all experimental and probably subject to many redesigns so dont be too quick to call me stupid. If its too stupid for words, just remember: IT WAS ALL MY IDEA! and i acted alone =P

![]() ![]() | Train them flat against the wall. You lost me with the diagram. Looks like you want to know if to top or not. So, going by my apparently limited imagination, you top or not according to the size of your light and/or growspace. With small lights (400 watts and lower and floro) you have to deal with penetration issues and topped plants grow wide and not tall. Makes better use of available light. Big lights can penetrate several feet of vegetation and topping may not be required. Hope this helped Smokin

![]() | ok... in both diagrams, the plants are topped... on the left, there are two plants parallel to each other with the growth shoots trained flat against the wall at 90 degree angles on the right, there are two plants, one on top of the other (kinda), topped near the bottom, with the growth shoots having little shoots of their own and everything all nice and perpendicular the one on the bottom is simply how i would lay out fluorescent tubes on the opposite wall... hope this helps you guys...

Thanks for the light advice, Smokin... For this setup, fluoros seem easiest.. at least in my head =P i still have yet to build this thing

![]() | I don't think your being dumb just kinda vague. What I gathered from your last drawing was that in your square growing space you were going to put the floros in the middle going up and down, and that you were going to put one plant up against each wall and prune all of the growing shoots to direct growth to the top. Am I anywhere close to what you're thinking? Please give more detail.

heh sorry if im not as articulate as you guys are used to... the fluoros in the middle will be vertical then i'll have a plant on each wall, trained flat against the wall. The plants will be topped when they reach the top of the space, then the grow shoots will be trained perpendicular to the main shoot to give them the maximum light from the fluoros kinda like a tanning salon... they tie you to a table & cook u

![]() | Hey glam, What you are talking about is called "espalier" if you do a general internet search, I'm sure you will get lots of info. on espalier methodology. It is apparently used by people with limited space. drongo
