Training horizontal growth

Here is a pic of how I train my flowering girls to grow more horizontal. works very well with topped plants that may split in the "V" when bending

Once the branches are tied above the V, you can stretch the tops parallel to the ground much easier

The band in the middle keeps the V from splitting. The strings from above the band pull down the plants to make them horizontal. What do the strings below the band do?

Those were ties I put on her during the stretch. I actually split that V several weeks ago with those old ties, you can kinda see it in the pic.
