Eh, if the OP is reading this, look at the link I posted.

That is how you pinch.

Now I'm going to bed.

who the heck is the OP?

and that's how YOU pinch my friend. I have read and adopted a different way. don't try and tell me it doesn't work, and don't try and tell me there's no other way. as a senior gardner you should know better, there's always more then one way to do something.

OP is the original poster.

I did not say your way doesn't work nor did I say there wasn't another way. I was offering an example of a widely used technique, albeit general. I posted it for the sake of the OP (not to impugn you), as it contains visual examples and offers more detail than just "well...a pinch."

I certainly didn't want to clutter this thread with an argument.

lol. Pinching? I've never heard of that.

Supercropping and FIM'ing I've heard of Sounds like some people call supercropping pinching and others call FIM'ing pinching :shrugs: Who cares!

I top. I love topping, I'm under the impression that it increases yield especially for an indoor grower. and it certainly can turn a "christmas tree" type plant into a squat fat bush! I also tie the plants down as well. No reason you cant do both topping and tying

maybe I took that the wrong way...but that sure seems to disregaurd the method I use.

if 'just a good pinch on the grow tips' isn't enough info...well the holy crap. sorry I didn't spell it out for you with a picture next to it. I can walk out to my plant and take pictures of how I do it if you require....

sorry for the clutter folks. just tryin to give my

topping has worked for years, and this other bloke has great luck with his method as well, I just try to avoid hurting my plant to get it to do what I want.

happy growing

Supercropping well who cares. Considered by some of the top breeders the best method of training for increasing yield and potency, yea who would care about knowing how to do that.

BTW, I'm still trying to find the artical. this method I preach is in a soft secrets mag and this australian is one of the best breeders in the world.

when you can read the artical you might not make fun of me for saying 'pinching' anymore. because that's exactly how he referred to it as.

no i meant who cares what its called

I've supercropped quite a bit and will probably continue to do so FIMing works but i prefer topping :shrugs: Whatever works best for you is what I say! No sense in arguing about it's name.

No argument from me but supercropping does have a method to it that is widely practiced by some of the top breeders. Supercropping is also referred to as stem bending, but all methods of training are not considered supercropping.

let me get this straight, FIMing is 'stem bending'?

topping is of course topping

is there no technical term for 'pinching'? or is that FIMing?' ít surprizes me that no one here seems to have heard of this method...I read about it in a popular magazine, which I can't bloody find and I'm about to call soft secrets themselves to get the information.

I dont'bend the stem, I don't pinch the stem. I pinch right at the grow tips, directly under the newst growth.
