![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They are my practice prototypes, using some of your principles. Help me visualise and try things, in preparation for more open and adaptable constructions using chains. [ the novice imitating the master with inferior building materials lol] Glad you like them. they are helping me think multi dimensional. [though thinking 'multi plant' as well. may be a way off, lol] Thanks for the inspiration. best wishes nigel Last edited by nigel; 01-16-2009 at 07:07 PM..

Thank you nigel for the compliment. I am humbled by the real growers at this site. But I do think that we have a good idea here. And I do enjoy the diagrams. So thanks again. How about another of those diagrams? I drew an adaptation and interpretation of your screen idea as an alternative to the back chain row in a cabinet. This shows promise. I have some trouble finding the correct chain link in the back sometimes. A screen in back full of 1/4" holes may just be the ticket. Real ScrOGgers please forgive us for putting the screen in the wrong place.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I like the variation, i tore my yard apart looking for such screen. lol If you put a hook on the end of the stick and use a screen at the back ; you can - stop the plants sliding the sticks. - have a wide range of attachment points. - potentially have the capacity to create diagonal planes. [eg push a lateral branch down, towards back. Stick comes from chain, under main stem, over lateral, thence to screen at a lower point. Hooks on. Another stick from top, stops it coming back up the angle. Branch tip is lowered encouraging laterals, heads away from main stem forward but towards back] The options and adaptions are endless Scrub. lol nigel

The canopy looks good on the Five Big Bud clones first introduced in Post #4. Some of the taller, bushier branches were shadowing some of the smaller. I felt that a little tweaking would be in order. I added a Separator Level 4 chain. The new level forms a screen of 1.5" x 3" squares across the canopy. To separate plant tops left and right, I added Training Sticks. One stick was added to each double-link in the chain. Each double-link is 1.5 inches. To separate plant tops front to back, I dropped Separator sticks onto the new sticks. Each stick just floats on the Training sticks below. There are six Separator sticks spanning the cabinet. Six Separator sticks divide the canopy into Seven rows. The cabinet is about 21" deep so the Six sticks create Seven 3" rows. Photos show Five Big Bud clones at 39 days flowering.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | the mite outbreak led me to put my grow on flouro, raise humidity and just gently veg. weeks of spraying water, not a web in site. on slow growth regime and lower temps, has meant that i have been spare with water and food; want them to stretch to reservoir and be actively growing before i spoil them. my babies took it all and have made a little growth, everyone is getting moved to larger brighter accomodation, so should be able to push on from what i have. pic 1 - miss new toy, battered and bruised from mites pic 2 - miss freakshow, hungry but good in 2 ways. out of picture to right, she has had a tip lopped. the mites USED the cage, to further their webbing. soon as she got there, got hammered. washing down everything not just plants now pic 3 - seedlings and pots. thought you would like this Scrub, lol pic 4 - hibiscus on right, mutoid on left, i have trained by weaving and tying to a piece of mesh . fingers crossed on everything. loved your pics, really good results. best wishes nigel

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | nigel, I see in Pics 1 and 2 that you are using sticks to press you plants in the directions that you want them to grow. It looks good. The plant in Pic 4 is woven upon itself into a mesh? I can't see the mesh but I can see a beautiful plant. As long as I am posting, I've removed all except three of the Level 4 Training sticks from my Post #4 example. The canopy is very full. I will try to get a lights out picture soon.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | mutoid goes to left and hibiscus to the right. they are trained onto concrete reinforcement mesh, squares approx 9 inches high and 1 foot long, few ties initially, then just push branches under horizontal lines in mesh. they are beautiful, hibiscus is my favourite. here's a shot from the side of her, you can see mesh here. with mesh full of lower laterals, have allowed main growing tip to go loose, it is heading up into tree above spade. lol nigel

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Most training relaxed remaining sticks are for support or major branch restraint. Correction to the last few pictures. There are only 5 clones. The sixth died at transplant.
