How long after topping a plant should you wait before you FIM it? How long do the 2 new "tops" need to be before you FIM them? thanks in advance CP1

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i've never heard of anyone doing both, usually one or the other. topping/fimming slows things down. so if you top, and then fim, you're gonna be adding quite a bit of time to your grow. after the topped growth tip returns to normal, go ahead and fim.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | usually you top or fim... as you can do either to the same growth tip, some people are toppers and trade one cola for 2, others are fim'ers and trade one cola for four. its all about where you cut...not when. the when is determined by where and how you want the plant to grow. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good morning, In the beginning of my last training session (feb 09) I "Pinched" the growing tip of a Blueberry clone I have and a few hours later decided to begin "LST" training with the same plant.. Although I hear others disagree to using both methods it is a choice of the grower to experiment with different methods even if on the same plant.. I believe the short amount of time to wait for the "shock value" of trimming to pass (a week maybe) far out weighed the end result giving many more budsites than if i'd have left the plant alone to do it naturally, which it wouldn't do on its own.. Was (is) in "my" situation the winning method. Many clones in training presently some that have been "PInched", some "Not" waiting for their turn in the Flower Cab are becoming my next set of "LST Gone Wild" trainees lol Have a Great day and Good luck with your grows don p.S. I have never let anyone else dictate to me how I should grow, Always do your own experiments, you might be surprised what you'd get

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Fim is great when it works, as I prefer not to top the plant. This only causes two usually identical branchs. The trick is to get about six or more by leaving somewhat more of the nub, sometimes it just grows back in with know division but blunted fan leaves. Other times it will just divide in two, not the four or six you were hoping for after a ten day wait or so to review the results. Topping and FIM procedure are two different techniques and you would not be concerned about the multiple growth tips that merely topping affords as if you get lucky with fim.
