Hey everyone, I have been wondering about this for the past month. Today marks day 58 of flower. My girls are currently 47 inches tall with a 250 HPS light 8-9 inches above them. While the main colas are all about evenly tall, the secondary shoots only reach up to 25 inches. Should I cut these bottom shoots that are down low to promote more development on the upper shoots? I am currently planning on cutting them at day 84, but this is all up to how fast they mature.

![]() | I'm by no means an expert but I would guess no because you are so far along into flower i imagine it would do more harm to your yield than good. Id say just do it early next time when u start flowering. But maybe im wrong and someone thinks differently...

![]() | Haha, I love fast responses. Trust me Lou, if I could put more light there in any way I would ASAP. One thing I have learned around here is that there is no such thing as too much light, only the wrong kind of lighting! I am personally afraid of bending them for fear of bending them too much and snapping, if you know what I mean. If the best thing to do is leave them be, I can live with that. On another note, when would it be ideal to pluck away unwanted/unneeded branches? Last edited by TrippyTurtle; 10-26-2009 at 07:07 PM.. Reason: Added question

(though actually ive seen the bottom half maturing sooner on some plants. so might do the reverse )if you bend the tops, what 20 inches? you are going to lose yield in one side. but personally i would just not worry about it, just wait for harvest day. those secondary shoots are extra smoke after all, nothing to worry about. next time, just lst or scrog better, to have all tops equal or trim the sideshoots, before they reach any size.
