when is the best time to top your plants? also, will topping halt vertical growth completely or just slow it down? also, will side more side branches appear or will the existing side branches just become stronger and produce more bud? thanks ahead of time.

... to Sog/Scrog/Training ![]() Please try to use the search function where it is possible ... or at least hit the right forum (or sub-forum) for your question ![]() When I was topping, I would top around the fifth node. It does not halt vertical growth ... just stalls it at the place where you topped. Side growth is allowed to catch up a bit (while the plant recovers) ... resulting in an overall more bushy plant. There are other ways to achieve the same results though. Search "Low Stress Training" ... or "Scrog" and you will find many useful links ![]() Maven ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Welcome to the garden, there are a few threads going on topping in the Scrog forum where you are. The search function Maven mentioned, is in the tool bar above you; you can hunt people or subjects. I prefer to go to advanced and search specific forums. There is a sticky on searching in the admin forum. What are you growing and how? best wishes nigel
