i have been researching all of the different methods of low stress training and have seen some amazing pictures. one of the pictures/method that intrigued me the most is the following picture.... http://www.indoormarijuanaseeds.com/...s-training.jpg has anyone actually grown using this exact method? it would seem to me that you might end up with a sick plant due to the foliage being so close to the ground. could this method not lead to some type of rot or fungus. anyone have any thoughts, input, or pics? *edit* when i say "so close to the ground" i am actually referring to the growing medium, not the physical/actual ground Last edited by bottomlessballz; 11-09-2009 at 05:12 PM.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Its the only method I use. I hate cutting plants, and I hate letting them grow straight. So LST is perfect for me. Outside mold is certainly an issue. Thats why you shouldnt tie the branches to the ground imo. Leave half-foot of space for air. As long as buds arent sitting in wet grass, I dont think lst would be the cause of mold. Imo, its best to start as soon as possible. Dont bend too much, and you wont have a single problem. Start by bending the highest branch, and try to bring lower branches into view from above.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thats exactly how I LST. Top goes around the bucket... Am I missing something? They wouldn't be close to the ground, buckets help with that. Here are two in veg - pic 1 early, pic 2 right before I switch to 12/12, pic 3 a different plant, but in flower. I've never LST'd all the way around the pot, only because I haven't vegged that long. I usually only end up about a 1/4 of the way around before I have every thing even enough to flip to 12/12.

Outlaw here, had her top held at the level of the bottom of the pot. as laterals developed they were trained and bent to form a fish bone effect down main stem. Once flowers were formed, i let her go and she has stayed same shape. going to do it this way again, as that is one very vigorous sativa semi controlled. lol nigel

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Greetings & Salutations, I've been (the last few flowers) used LST to trrain my Ladies and have found that this Blueberrry strain I have seems to do really well with long term (3 month or better) training producing a crap load of smaller flowers. A bit bigger than lower popcorn on a vertically grown plant. I have been impressed though with my last harvest (friday) with a trained AK47 that seemed to like the training by creating (not my intention) cross shape or an "X" pattern, Lou thought I should've donated it to my local church not!!This sessions Blueberry had an issue early on with the dreaded spider mite and his/her buddies and did poorly throughout much of the end of flower i'm assuming from the stress caused by the buggers.. Damn bugs. Included are two photos taken this past friday prior to harvesting these two Ladies.. pic 1 = AK47 cloned on 12.15.08 had a total "wet" weight of 6.19 oz pic 2 = Blueberry cloned 2.15.09 had a total "wet" weight of 6.98 oz as i'm impressed I finally made it into the "Beyond-An-Ounce" Club (per plant that is) ![]() We, my friends who came to help trim, decided to trim BB to look like a Christmas Wreath that could hang on the outside of a stoners (my) front door. It was photographed from three different perspectives hanging outside on the door. The only thing missing was the Xmas lights .. Will be posted at or near the Holidays next month ... ![]() Have a Great day & remember "Training IS Fun" don

![]() | awesome, thanks for all the great feedback everyone!! I've been working for over 2 months on developing my crawlspace growroom (digging 4 ft through clay dirt is the worst), and have been looking for ways to keep my ladies nice and low. i have already purchased some super lemon haze from attitude and started germing them last night. i figured that like the picture, tying the plant directly to the ground would be a bad idea but couldnt really find any info on that. anyways, thanks again everyone for the quick replies and wonderful gift of information and insight.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well, the plant shouldnt be touching the ground, at least not any leaves. let it grow like 3-4 nodes, then bend the plant over, then you got like 5-6 inches between the plant and soil. depending on your humidity, up to an inch from the ground should be fine. with high humidity id want a half a foot yeah. so not to trap moisture overmuch.
