I wanted to start off by showing a picture of (mostly) 21 day olds in a 7x7 room. These are under a 600W HPS. The plant in the back is 46 days old and is almost ready to harvest. I left it in there until the little ones assimilate her space, too. The one in the corner is the same as the one in the left/bottom most position. I just moved it out to take some addtional pics of it for more examples. As you can see in this picture. The plants are individually trained to fill their space. They will grow into the space allocated and not be moved until harvest. The objective was to have a complete 7x7 canopy that will cease growing (vertical) at 30 inches tall. No screens attached.

She's only been flowering for 10 days compared with the rest at 21 days. No topping here. She started her training in an 18/6 cycle and began flowering at about 12", although, she was tied back down to about 8". She's back up to about 10", now.

at 4 inches tall to create a additional branches. Just bent the main stem 90 degrees for 7 days. Then released it and let the vertical grow happen for another 7 days, during preflower, until she reached 10 inches tall. At this point, in this pic, her main stem is 10 inches tall and she has one major branch. The main stem was left vertical while the branch was bent 90 degrees and attached to the top of the milk jug. To avoid placing too much stress on her, I will wait another 3 days before bending the main stem back to it's 90 degree position. Have a look ...

Maybe ... at least here you can see the stem wire attached to both the milk jug and the stem.

... into a 5 gallon bucket that has holes drilled around the top rim. These are used as tie down points. IMO, 24 guage stem wire is much easier to use than twine, string, or rope. It's pretty cheap, too. 150 feet for $1.49 from almost every hobby store. Plus, it's very easy to reuse.

Delta said i could jump in here and show some more examples, i borrowed these from my other thread, so although not new pics, they help show the different stages of the tying process belive it or not, i hadnt even tied a single branch yet, but you can see how well the FIM technique works Delta is not a fan of it, and im still experimenting with what i like. My next grow, i dont plan to FIM, and want to see what will happen, i will also start to tie way earlier, maybe at this age....

look at how well this wonderous plant adapts! this is the best way to grow in my opinion. so much more of the plant gets light the idea is to get the top of the plant as close to one single plane as possible, that way, the light can be lowered and the plant gets great equal coverage of light (as opposed to just the top of a single cola plant getting the best light, and the bottom of it not getting nearly as much penetration) during the stretch, you have to continuously re-tie and adjust the height of all the colas, if you just make a habbit out of it to do it every watering, it works out nicely thats it for me! back to Delta
