| Hello, I've read through all the links on the posts here, but I have yet to see a discussion of starting techniques. I ask this because the web pages out there seem to point to ScrOG as the best method for small gardens, the novel and easily concealed kind. These are not the multi-light, multi-chambered constant harvest gardens that allow for a mother, a cloning area, and a flowering chamber. If the general concensus is to start with clones than where are these clones coming from? Also: -Plant density seems to be a bit of a discussion point, 1, 2, 3 per square foot? -Vegitative light is used to provide growth to the screen, but then when is it switched to flowering, as the plants first hit the wire, or as vegitative growth slows? I seem to think it's the first, but correct me if I'm wrong. How many ScrOG growers are reading hc.com right now? waiting patiently, Guyute P.S. This method sounds amazing! If this is combined with the 25$ aeroponics or perhaps a deep water system(both discussed in the aeroponics forum) then a super garden could be the result... | ||

![]() | Guyute... Obviously, for having clones you need a clone mother and a place for her to veg... BD is going to start a ScrOG soon; i will go SOG next week, just have some pacience... Plant density should be around 1 plant s/f or less, otherwise scrog makes no sense... Plants should be flowered when 50% of the screen is full, time will deppend on the particular plant you have; if you're using clones, they will grow the same way, will flower the same time, etc... wolf

| Unless you're rich, forget the Aeroponics, buy some decent seeds and grow in soil. ScrOG will be cool for 1-3 plants per s/f of pot space. A single plant can cover as much of the screen as you want it too. I've personally only seen 3' of space covered by a single plant, but if you veg it long enough, you can do what you want. Having a mother is just a time saver, it isn't mandatory, and a lot of people can't have one, so If you grow from seed, make sure to get clones off a female or two for the future, and grow extra, like 2x the # of plants you will need, after all you can always kill them easier than grow. Oh yeah, don't flower when they hit the screen, fill that ***** up with stems and grow tips and train them to grow sideways under the screen or else you miss out on the whole point of the screen. You ever see a broken tree or plant that was leaned way over, and instead of straightening back out, it grew a ****load of new tops 90 degrees to the main stem? it's exactly like that. Auxin I beleive is the hormone that makes plants fight to get light, and you want to pump your plant full of it to do a good scrog (ScrOG... whatever) also, novel gardens aside, scrog is meant to produce more weight per useable area than other methods. It's perfect for people with weaker lights (aka no penetration, and flourescents, etc.) people with low headroom, and those who want to experiment. Grown correctly, you can really go far with ScrOG. REMEMBER. KEEP IT SIMPLE FIRST TIME AROUND. [This message has been edited by wolfman (edited September 22, 2000).] | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I like to have 3-4 clones/ft² but mostly because I know how my ladies grow. I'd reccommend 1 plant/ft² on a flat scrog (it's a word now forks, the lettering no longer matters ) Scrog is great if you want to experiment a little as well since you get to isolate the buds and inspect closer. Veg time depends on your girls. Those that stretch the most will need less to fill the screen. Some will need a lot more. I grow a bit of this and a bit of that so I kinda fudge here and there. ![]() Mostly you just have to experiment and figure out what works for you. Mom plants don't have to be big, just healthy enough to grow clones when you need them. Live, Learn, Grow. BD ![]()

| Thanks! Yet again, HC.com is the place for info, especially when the plants are young, time slows to a crawl! Always good to have something to read. Perhaps I'll post in the grow diary when things look a bit more like a scrog around here. Guyute P.S. Anyone want to throw up pictures of their scrog set up? P.P.S. The article from pH is from 97. Where is ScrOG in the magazines and on the web? I mean, the number of sites out there is fairly low in comparison to general grow sites.
