![]() | I am already getting ready for my first grow, which will be outdoors. I will be growing the plants behind my house in an empty field that *was* going to be used to build a shopping center. I would like to keep my plants from growing over the top of the vegetative growth (about 3-4' high) in that field to keep suspicion down. I was wondering if anyone has tried ScrOG oudoors for this reason or another. Also, is 3-4' too high for ScrOG? All of the articles I have read on it said that they had their roof 1-2' above the pot. (This would also serve the purpose of keeping some pests out as I would have a chicken wire encasing the plant.)

![]() | mine is a touch less than 3' .. think it would be interesting to try!! if you try it let us know how it goes .. i think 3.5 feet would be great for growing outside from seed .. just remember to leave space to get in and cut out males and hermies =) oh, and be careful about leaving a trail to it .. you gotta spend a bunch of time training under the screen .. that i imagine would be the toughest part of it ...

![]() | Yeah, I will probably have to contruct a structure that has hinges to allow me to lift up the sides w/out ripping apart the plants. Then I would probably need some yard staples to keep the chicken wire structure down to the ground just in case we get lots of wind or a frisky pest. I have about 6 1/2 mnths before I have to have it constructed, so I have plenty of time ![]() Oh, I'm not worried about leaving a trail, it's close to my house, it's in a field that hardly anyone goes, and if one of my parents find out, they probably won't care...They think it's better to grow the stuff (just not in the house) rather than get it from a shadey dealer ![]() I will keep you posted, and if I can get my hands on a digital cam, I will take pics and post em ![]()

![]() | i asked a question earlier about scrogging outside...but no one answered much like this one almost...no one seems to want to help out or comment for fear of looking stupid...but its something new to try, there are lots of woods here and people used to dump lots of wire in them and scrap metal i am planning on trying to find a good spot and stick a plant in there...does anyone know if the rust of the metals would hurt the plants or potentcy?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Shepper, i may look stupid saying this, but from what i have read, you might want to stay away from metal wiring, there is a risk of infection if the wire cuts into the plants flesh, also, the rust wont help either, just another source of infection to the plant, and i dont think i would want to smoke bud that has rust on it from the iron netting! however, if you can clean that wiring up and make sure the plant doesnt push too hard on it, you could have a good idea there. Good luck, good grow IK

![]() | Hi, I think it would be better to tie your plants down and train them so they stay low to the ground. I think the screen would be hard to take care of outside. And with screen growing timeing is everything.
