Hi All,
Got the tools for a scrog, 1 600 hps 12 pots and 12NL clones and a 15 sq foot frame, specs thanks to L.B. Now then, as this will be my first hydro crop i`m thinking that it may be best to grow the plants as bushes so i can keep an eye on things, could anyone please tell me how far apart the 10L pots should be spaced under the 600 for optimum results. Have a larger area 8ft x 9ft in total but dont think the light will be strong enough over such a large space, and it isnt viable financially or securtiy wise to add another light. All ideas will be gratefully recived, as always.

ahh i feel like i misled you.. sorry.
i over read the word 'bushes' ....

one per sq foot without being topped is ample space, may get a bit crowded if you grow bush style.. the 600 watt will cover a space 4x4 max... 16 sq ft..

i'd start out spacing the pots 1 sq foot apart... then arrange accordingly so the plants benefit most from the lights available... being in pots that shouldnt be too hard.
you could grow half the crop without topping, taking up 6 sq feet, then space the other six bushy plants 1.5-2 feet apart.. find out what works best for you through experimentation.

Cheers A. Skunk, that is top advice, i`m gonna clone the clones when they are ready and try a scrog then, just with focusing on doing scrog with these babys has thrown my dimensions out. I havent grown for a few years and then it was with soil and chaotic-good results all the same, however with all the exellent advice here on the boards it`s hard to decide on THE best way!!
Thanx a lot

sounds like your plants are going to have a pretty well thought out life.. keep reading the forums to brush up on random information.. other peoples problems only help prevent your own. good luck w/ your setup.

Leaf,

Please learn from my experience and dont clone your clones. As you copy a copy, it gets to be weaker and weaker. I learned to grow cloning my clones, but by he time I hit the fourth generation it was obvious that my last harvest was a shade of its original self. Three full bowls, over a gram and a half to get me and the wife a buzz. May as well stick my head in a fire and catch a buzz from plain ole smoke inhalation.

Hey Smokin
This fred will probably be on the move again now, i belive the cloning forum`s very nice at this time of year...anyway, i read the thread re clones of clones somewhere recently but have lost it`s whearabouts? im not sure about cloning clones myself as i`ve only ever done it once and for one generation only, and they were pretty much the same in yeild and pot-ency, other growers i hear have also not seem any major differnce with clones of clones, other than the odd hermie or throwback mutant. im not disagreeing with you smokin could have been your strain or somthin? i`d sure like to explore this further, if we dont get teleported to clones, i`ll try and find the other fred and continue there.
cheers

you should be able to clone from clones with out loss of potency or vigor. Not to doubt you smokin'... maybe you just had a bad expereince?

And...since this has gotten off topic...I will close this thread. Feel free to carry on this conversation in the cloning forum.

Peace y'all
