IMO, topping does more harm than good. If you want multiple tops, try Low Stress Training. Delta's LST guide is linked in my sig, and myMUSICveins just posted his own guide, both definitely good and worth checking out. myMUSICveins explains why he thinks topping is bad in his guide. happy growing

I have a different opinion on that.
I have been pro-topping and anti-topping and now that I have topped and lst'd I prefer topping.

If done correctly, it doesn't slow up the growth much/more than lsting, and you achieve the same results as with the low stress method without all the tying down (but if you combine topping with tying you get even better results), multiple bud sites. The key is the patience needed with either method to let the plant have time to grow the secondary shoots.
Here is a thread that explains topping pretty well.

Feel free to read through the library training subforum for good threads on training without the multiple page search.

It basically comes down to personal opinion on which training method suits you. They all have +/- and they all work towards the same result. Just wanted to give you another opinion, informed choice, etc. etc. etc.

Peace,
Plains
