![]() | If one wanted to grow SOG, and light usually does not pass belowe 18inches due to foilage. Assuming you have one every sq ft. At what height would you induce flowering? To reach this 18-24 inches that is. A HID lamp will be used. The goal would be to reach aproximatly 1oz per plant, and from what it sounds like, that might take a few tries of growing before I reach this kind of goal. But if I'm lucky, I'll get only half. I am realistic ya know. But plans are waiting on some answers from reliable sources out there. Thanks for your attention, the "FREAK" ![]()

![]() | Flowering should still be induced when the plant is sexually mature, i.e. alternate branching and preflowers, regardless of height. You can induce flowering early, since with SOG you have so many plants. Yield will be decreased per plant....but with so many.....and..you are concentrating mainly on that top cola. Your height will be determined by your pruning/training of the plants. cy

![]() | So as long as the plants have alternate branching you can induce into flowering? My plants have about 3-4 alternates right now, but not very tall, only about 3 1/2 inches. They have been under a 40watt warm light for about 2 weeks now since they came up. I am pretty sure this is not a good sign, but they do smell pretty skunkish, one in particular. So I can now go ahead into flowering and see what happens. This is just a practice run anyhow, but if I get alittle bud, all the better. Maybe I'm trying to hard to figure all this stuff out, without practicing, so I'm just gonna go for it and have fun. I have read that people feel so relaxed while tending their garden, that I noticed the same thing, I took all the time in the world to look at them even though they are only 3 1/2 inches tall. Sounds stupid huh? Maybe I'm obsessed with planing a new garden also, cuz I'll just sit in the basement and look at the walls, the outlets and picture a room going up and plants and lights inside and a big ol' smile on my face as I look at my babies.(in my mind)<- The "FREAK"

![]() | Dude...you sure you have alternate branching? At two weeks and 3 1/2 inches....no way shoould it be flowering yet. One thing....if you have warm white bulbs, they have the red spectrum for flowering. You want cool white for veg. stage cy ![]()

![]() | Yes, I am sure I have altenate branching, I have 2 branches popping out in oposite directions, just above that 2 more going in oposite directions as the first set and so on. Wait, unless "alternate branching" is when your branches get branches. Is that it? I could be wrong, I suppose I am. Oh well, like I said "experimental". I can only learn from my mistakes, "knowledge is power" as some one has said, ha ha ha The "FREAK" thanks for the quick answer

![]() | What you are describing is normal growth pattern. NOT alternate branching. Alternate branching is more like when the branches get branches. ![]() And...that is me that always say's: Knowledge is Power cy ![]()
