How do you get clones for second and subsequent generation SCROG grows? That is, do you keep a mother plant at another location or do you re-vegetate one of the SCROG plants?

If you re-vegetate a SCROG plant, how is this done? Do you clip the colas, remove the screen, and grow from the remaining stems? Are there enough leaves left after pruning the under-screen area?

you can either keep a mother and clone at will, or you can clone them before you flower them, and when you harvest you should have some rooted clones ready to go.
you will need another room or space to grow a mother or clones. A small fluorescent box will work fine.

Thanks for the info. A separate room with either clones from pre-flowering plants or from a non-flowering mother plant. Makes it a little tougher.

It doesn't require a large amount of space or lighting. Just enough to allow the clones to root and live. A footlocker size box with a flo is plenty.

As far as cloning goes, i hear going from a 24/0 to 12/12 and back to 24/0 can shock the plant and cause it to go hermie in some cases. I read somewhere you can accomplish early sexing, by wrapping a branch ( internode ) in a dark bag, and that will stimulate sexing, while ONLY one branch is sexed to show balls or pistils.
The way it works is, as it is wrapped, it gets no light, or very little, starting off the flowering cycle on only one branch, as the rest of the plant is recieving light to nourish that branch. I'd say do this with a few seedlings b4 they reach the mesh, separate the boys from the girls and take cuttings. You should have enough cuttings, and who cares if the mother dies, you can always take cuttings from a clone . I would use an aero-cloner to clone.
With this method, you get clones, all approx. the same size, all female, more plants than what you would have gotten outta the ones started from seed, and a fast maturation, and all this will take you the same time it would take you to grow from seed, plus it will produce more bud.

I have read about masking one branch to sex a plant. I was concerned about the actual mask. How about a black felt bag with a tie string? Similar to that a Chevez scotch bottle may come wrapped in.

Have you tried this masking technique?
