i have 14 inch plants with 1 growth tip witch i cut to produce two growth tips
i cut the stem at a half of an inch above the fan leaves
the next day my plants are growing pre flowers instead of new growth tips
what did i do wrong? the flowers are growing at every fan leaf on the plant
can this be fixed? i am tring to get 4 growth tips on each plant
during the day my plants sit under a big window at night i put them in a grow box 4 foot high x 4 foot wide x 4 foot length using floros 24 hours light total
what can i do to save them?

Well, I had a simmilar problem, although it wasnt from topping, as i dont use that method, but i was convinced that what i was seeing looked like a whole bunch of pistils coming out of the tips or the growth tips. WOW!!! i thought..... Turns out it was just new growth, im not saying this is the case with you, but just watch it over the next few days to see if what you think is preflowering, turns into leaves. Let me know, if you notice any of those flower-like things get bigger. Thats my guess.

What have I done!!! If only I read more before I cut. LST is what I should be doing. I will read up on this and any other subject before I act. All is not lost for I am cloning what I cut and my plants are still alive. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Hey no problem man, I was about to start ripping on topping, but i know every time I do i get one of those dies hard toppers. Those people that live by it. I have found that training seems to be a lot more worry free. Ive heard of multiple thing that go wrong with topping, and the only thing that i have ever heard going wrong with LST is to snap a stem, which embarrassingly enough happened to 2 of my plants my first time LSTing. Well long story short.....Your chopping off the main cola, and how i dont soubt that it will come back as 2 growth tips, That they definetaly not be 2 monseterous colas like youd expect to see from what youve read im sure., Truth be told. It wont effect your yield all that much when compared to LSTing....Check out my sig....The what LST iss and how to do it link...He goes into detail his thoughts, and mine too i might add, on LSTing. I live by that guide LST is great, but what really caught my eye is SCoG. Now that looks interesting.

they are not preflowers instead they are 20 lovly branches with 3 sets of leaves on each node and 2 tops on each plant. I am seting up a horazontal piece of chain link fence. To try my hand at scrog

The ole screen of green method........*drooling....... That really does look promising. Another type i have just been looking into, although extremely expensive. Im not sure if its called the bonzai technique, or whatever, but its a huge spinning wheel that spins. Thats just fricken awesome. Well, here is some karma for your babies, good luck to ya man.
