Moving while growing....? - Page 6

. Hopefully other growers can use this as a sorta walkthrough for moving your grow...glad I can help.

Seeing as how I'm here, my plants won't be getting the same amount of light at the new house. Here they get unobstructed direct sunlight for as long as the sun's up. Our new place has trees and vegetation in the way, so they'll still get sun, just not as directly...will this affect their ability to finish? I've got a couple weeks to go still...Thanks

woohoo 5 stars. at least 4 or 5 hours of direct sun would be great. They will still finish either way.

Yup.

Unfortunatly the prune/plum/purple fruits I make jam with tree is staying behind, as is the peach tree...now that i'm gonna miss

....sweet juicy peaches from your own backyard

. Luckily we are going to up root some of the raspberries, gooseberries and blackberries, so at least I'll have some jam

Hey Eephus!

I'm going to again recommend using bags, but not grocery bags, use large black garbage bags that are 4-5 feet tall so you can conceal the entire plant.

Hey JJ,

That's pretty much what I did, got the biggest friggin' garbage bag I could find at the IGA...gonna slip 'em in there and into the backseat of the car...

Gonna hit the hay soon...smoke a couple bowls in my room for the last time...

...sniff sniff....I'll probably sit around and contemplate things in my enhanced state I'll soon be in....Mr Bong-O, here I come!

Good day to you all....

A day later and a million boxes and two girls later

I'm in my new home. Believe it or not, I ended up putting my girls in with our stuff in the moving truck...talk about paranoia and stress...The guys were pretty cool about it, 3 jamacains and a Tobagan (?) and they were quite impressed with their size. I just put alot of boxes around the pots and I stringed up a support system, basically ropes coming from both sides of the inside of the truck attached to the main stem so they wouldn't fall over. They made the trip with no worries at all and now that i think about it, it would have been alot harder and more of a hassel to put 'em in the back of the car. They only spent about an hour in the truck and I probably would have mangled them in the car. Couple people saw us loading and unloading them...just gave us a big grin. Neighbour saw 'em, commented on how a few other people have grown in the neighbourhood over the yrs. I'll be on my toes for the next couple days...One thing though: Unfortunatly their night environment is a bit brighter than their old one, I've got a couple street lamps about 10 meters away and a big ad board (like the ones on top of building) with a light illuminating it and the board is white so I reflects a good amoung of light...problamatic? Not that there's anything I can do about it, just wondering if they'll finish alright, they've still got a good couple wks. to go...? Thanks for all the help and info throughout my move, I appreciate it, glad I could get a nice thread going that might be helpful to other growers...Breakfast awaits...

Of course they were cool. They know where they can score some smoke. Do you think they have friends? Neighbors too???????? Yikes, Eephus! I guess I don't understand Canada law but don't you think you are exposing yourself to strangers a little too much?

I get where you're coming from Buzz, but I feel pretty safe. There's not a whole lot I can do about the neighbours, there's not alot of cover between us and them. And there's no access to the back yard except through the house and you'd have to be Tenzing Norgay to climb the back fence...Plus my dad was already showing the movers my plants before I could say anything...circumstantial inconveniences...what's a grower to do?

let me get this straight....

you stressed for weeks about moving the plants then basically told the whole nieghborhood and some dudes you don't know.

is that right?

if so I think you made a mistake, I'm in Canada too, and it is still illegal and people will find a way to rip your grow if they want it bad enough.

just my opinion.

Theres plenty of mj bandits here, ya better get the boobie traps rigged

. I don't even tell friends that I grow. Just the ones that I trade clones with know. Not that I think they'd try to rip me off. But word travels. They might tell a friend, then they mention it to another, then bam..your plants are gone.
