Ok ive been trying to find the answer to this question a long a$$ time so if i was growing outdoors way out in the country "Whats the least amount of Mary Jane that a helicopter can detect, and just about how many plants could i get away with ? " also any info about the weed choppers would be appreciated.

from what i hear, its easy for copters to pick up a crop, or a bunch together, but if you have them spread out, say 1 or 2 here and there, then its harder for them to spot!!

How much heat does a plant give off?

If you ever watch those worlds scariest police chases, and when the guy jumps out of his car and runs, and the helicopter can pick him up very easy, does a plant give off as much heat as a human?

If there flying in a marijuana eradication helicopter, using infrared surveillance equipment, they can spot 2-foot-tall marijuana plants growing. But there favorite thing to look for is houses, sheds, etc. That are giving off more heat than other houses.

Would a house give off more heat with one 400W HPS? 1000W? How much? Also, is it harder to spot in the desert (since it's hot already)?

It doesn’t matter where they are looking, desert, etc. They are comparing house x with all the other houses in an area.
So if you are using your attic with say 3 1000w hids it would stand out like a bulls eye. It depends where you have your lights; in a basement would be the best place. Once something is wrong in there minds then they want to get closer. They also use your electric bill, there nose to smell for the odor of weed coming from venting, etc. before obtaining a warrant.

How about under a stairway, on the first floor (of 2) and vented into the garage? Sound like a winner?

If all you were using was one light, say a 400w hid and venting it in the garage then you should be ok. Using a charcoal filter helps to eliminate venting odors.

I drive to a diffrent local to treat our 10 'females' (3-4 feet ea.), its like out of my city way out in the country,... but how likely is it that 10 'females' will get picked up they are separated by 2 foot each and the pine trees provide a little cover. Do those helicopters go everywhere ?

10 plants should be fine if properly camouflaged. Pine trees do offer some cover from prying eyes. As far as the helicopters going everywhere. No they don't go everywhere, so there are places that are truly secret if you know where they are.
