Does anyone have or use a Passthru Url to get to the site? What I mean is you go to the page, or site, feed the url in for our site here, and it keeps your session cloaked from the resident powers that be in your network.

Encrypted would be good (SSL), but just curious, I'm in a network where I'm very reluctant to visit these sites so I go through withdrawals until I get home usually :-) during my workday.

I do. I've been using cotse.com. Costs $6.00 a month. They have a very fast server, SSL encryption. There are plenty of free ways to get the same job done, but they tend to be very slow.

Sorry, but that also shows Hempcultivation......not good.....would be better (as they've done for the bodybuilding site I frequent www.elitefitness.com) to create a passthrough like www.pchelp.com and then login, and it puts you into a passthrough that still shows as pchelp...but it's deeper in the url.....hides the content as well since it's SSL.

This site is pretty secure in my opinion, but if your really nervous about your ip being logged and stuff than just use an proxy. I wouldn't worry about anything though, the admins here are taking real real good care of you and thats obviously why we're all here in the first place -=] good admins lead to an even better atmosphere.

I'm more concerned about our corporate firewall logging illicit sites....we have some corporate policies regarding drug use..etc. and they may see this as ill advised activity.

I would like to know if the isp can see the url when an encrypted proxy is used. I understand they cannot see the page, but can they see that you are accessing it?

The answer is yes they can. Content is encrypted, not addresses or URL's.

you're also going to make it obvious by using the DNS name of the website you're visiting.

regardless of encryption or security a DNS query to hempcultivation.com can easily be tracked and logged.

If you are using a pass through that is SSL encrypted your IT guys will only see the DNS request to get to the pass through svr, your request to the pass through for it to get a url like hempcultivation.com will then be hidden.

it really depends on the implementation of the pass through or proxy that you are planning to use.

If you want to give me some svrs that you plan to use I can analyse what they do and let you know if I think they are safe
