Hey! At Home Depot, they sell these furnace filters with an activated charcoal layer for $8.99. I cut about 4" off the top and duct taped it to the backside of a regular boxfan. With the fan running on the low setting, I havent had to run my Ozone Generator (which I build for $25!! ) all day. Check it out!Im not sure if this is as effective as a $300 air scrubber, but it sure seems to be knocking out any odors eminating from my grow room. You could probably do this even cheaper, with some Super77 spray adhesive, and a large supply of activated charcoal. Just spray a cheap ($1.99 or so) filter with adhesive, and then coat it with the activated carbon. Get a bunch of fans and put them all over the place...constant odor control. Awake

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | We're putting the finishing touches on a new room...and plan to do almost the same by venting warm air through a fan on top of the cabinet. We've gotta huge canister we were planning to fill with charcoal...but if these filters you're talking about work THAT well, well simply fold one of them filters into it! Thanx for the nice tip! ![]() pOOn ![]()

I have one plant about a week into flowering right now (a big Bubblegum plant, she's filled up a 5 ft^2 screen!), and I usually run my ozone gen 4 times a day or so to kill the smell. With the carbon filter and fan, I havent smelled anything at all. I dont know what the 'smell eradicating limit' of one filter is, though. The label on it said it was good for freshening the air in an entire house...they didnt specify how many plants per room, however Awake

Just a little follow up post - this project works far better than I expected for odor control. I only run my Ozone generator once a day for like 1 minute now, and I have absolutely NO odor problems whatsoever. And all the air in my apartment smells SO much cleaner... Awake

![]() I have 7 plants, one large female in flowering and 6 small clones in veg. The flowering plant is quite big, she's filled up a 5ft^2 screen with buds...all are Bubblegum from Serious Seeds. The whole place reeks when the filter isnt on... For $8.99 you cant beat it! Glad I could help! Awake

Yeah, something like that. I got mine at a big home improvement store - its a furnace filter with an active carbon layer. Also - my place, and my grow, are fairly small. It seems to be working really well for my situation. If you've got a whole room full of plants though, I have no idea how effective the contraption will be. You'll have to try it and find out. I leave it on 24/7, and the fan is in the doorway between the room where the plants are(the bedroom) and the main living area of the apartment. You can still smell the plants in the bedroom (on the backside of the fan), but in front of the fan I smell nothing but clean air. I would definately smell the plants if it wasnt running. Awake
