buying growing supplies and general security discussion

Its not really paranioa i dont think ..but here goes.

Your off to buy your MJ related growing products but u cant help but think its bad..like buying fert... you'll think " its only for the tomatos ..or its for the soil bed out back" ...

but u think to yourself....they wouldnt think someone my age would grow vegies... they know what its for jayda...they know..

just stuff like that ... even buying buckets i bought today... i felt totaly suspect.

Yes jayda, I've been there before. The only real advice I can give, is that the paranoia goes away with time. I used to feel so guilty when I shopped for supplies. If I'm in a store buying supplies, its either because my grandfather asked me to pick up these supplies; or I need some help for a project for school.

jayda- I try and make it a point not to feel like that.
If you feel suspicious you tend to act suspicious.
Walk in there like you are buying a shirt.

That is weird. Stores are in business to sell- I just don't get cutting off your nose to spite your face like that.

A Home Depot stop is nothing special to me- maybe I'll pick up an extra flat of annuals, but still- potting mix is legal.
I have started trading cars when I go to a hydro shop- my own concession to paranoia, I guess. If they snap the plates, they aren't mine, and the address the car belongs to has nothing illegal going on. If anyone were to follow me, they would literally see me walk into a Chinese Restaurant and not walk out- my real car being parked in the alley behind. I'd be 2 miles away before they figured I wasn't coming back out.

Is that safe? For both me and the owner of the decoy car?

Stu, that story is a nightmare mate. I realy can't understand how the justice system lets cases like that through, it's not like they're taking a criminal off the streets, just wrecking some poor kids chances in life, realy sad. What sort of cop would take it to that point anyway? it realy beggers belief, I'm truly shocked it got to court. Holding video evidence of a soil purchase for a year! man thats screwed up in all sorts of ways *walks off shaking head dumbfounded*

I went and bought my 150 HPS light.. buckets... fert... purlight... and soil all at the same place and when i was checking out i thought to myself.. "WHY THE HELL AM I BUYING ALL THIS AT ONE TIME".. but no one knew.. only dopers know.. normal people dont suspect... the only way to spot a doper, is when you yourself become a smoker

I too used to get nervous when buying pots, soil, all the ammenities that go along with growing. After awhile (many failed attempts at indoor) I said to myself, You're buy dirt for christ sakes. everybody plants seeds in dirt (well most everybody) they need a container for that, and fertilizer. Don't sweat it. I have had a knock and talk once, while in college but that was years ago.
Let me stand on the roof and say "I smoke pot, I grow pot"....I enjoy both. The only time you really need to fear LEO is when you start sellin the stuff. Thats when a whole new security forum will be in order. If your'e smokin and growin for personal use, LEO has no use for you. Like they want to waste the time of an entire squard of officers (8 in my area) to bust joe the accountant with 2 plants. come on, do you really think that will even make the 9th page?
Grow 5000 plants, and start movin some good stuff, probably should be concerned with security.

Maverick, the words you speak are filled with truth.

I make almost daily trips to wally world, hemp depot, and rat shack for things that I need in my personal life. If LEO wants to waste their resources tracking down how much potting soil I buy, they're gonna have to look pretty hard. This doesn't mean that LEO ignores what we do, because they certainly do not. However, unless you bring it to their attention, you are probably pretty safe.

I agree. Don't try to grow commercially, keep a low profile, tell NOONE, don't be obvious about it. You shouldn't have trouble. Most of the stuff we use to grow with is legal, and acting guilty only brings attention to yourself.

Paranoia may distroy ya!

San, keep in mind that all they bassically did was file the report from the store in their data base and when my friend's stupid son told the cop "sure, we used to break the law, wanna see?" they just did a database search and that is what truned up.

This was also a college town and I am sure the local LEO visit the stores and give out tip sheets as to watch for. Even the oirignal basis for the walk and talk was a tip for the drug store where the roomy bought the cold medicine.

Hellooo???? i think if i get busted there wont be much of a need to check and see where i got the stuff... if they walk into my closet and see reefer plants i think thats all the evidence they need
