![]() | As many of us here in these forums are more than a little concerned with online security for obvious reasons , myself included . So having a day off from work I started looking for some measure to beat this concern of mine in regards to surfing and posting at some sites that I really enjoy . And with me not being all to computer savy when it comes to being a programmer and whatnot, I needed something that will do the trick for me with very limited user input . Anyway...I found this little program that does do the trick if you set it up right . Very easy and simple to use . It is called "Stealth Anonymizer" You can find it here . http://www.photono-software.de/SA/ They have a testing page to see if you are in stealth mode which I din't trust to use for my testing so i tried it out at https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 Which has been around for a long time for internet security issues . And after figuring out how to get the program to work I came out clean as a whistle . Shields Up only detected the proxy server that I was going through and not able to trace back to me at all . Or so I am hoping . As for the program itself . It has an unlimited setting and a registered setting that you have to pay for....but is unreasonably high I think . So I plan on using the free part . If it works why bother with the paid version . But I would not reccomend using it full time as it does slow your surfing speed around or so I think IMO . But that is a small price to pay if you fear the Reaper so to speak . Let me know what you folks think of it . Kinda curious as to what the more informed may think . And just for the record .....I do not work for these folks....I just want to be left to grow in private . enjoy....

![]() | There are many Firewall programs that will make your computer "dissappear" from the internet. For the most part they are good, but there are ways around them. hackers and feds are the ones that can get around them, so that means that they are not totally safe. For the everyday net user, they are fine, but don't buy one and then think they are safe. I am not particularly computer savvy, but I have found ways around a couple of the available Firewall programs. (note: these are different from Firewall hubs)

![]() | Here is one to try. Go to http://www.safeweb.com The way it works is you go to the opening page and it askes you the URL of the page that you want to open. Type in an innocent URL and press go. What will happen is it will open up a browser within a browser. In the second browser you will see another address bar, type in the url's that you want to visit in there. Everything comes to you through a secure channel. If you are going through a firewall or a proxy server to hit the internet, all that will show up on the proxy server is that you went to one web site and that site being http://www.safeweb.com. I've been using it for quite a while and I know that it works, I'm a network engineer and I look at the Proxy server log files. But as with any technology, I'm sure there is a way around it, I haven't found it yet, but I'm sure there is a way.

![]() | all I am saying is that it is better to be safe than sorry . As for myself....I like to keep a low profile and not draw attention to myself in any way possible . And with me getting ready to undertake my 1st grow and wanting to share it with like minded folks who can both benefit and help me and others by sharing what each of us knows . But my point is this . I don't sell , I don't buy . So why should I fear what I decide to do in my own house . I and we shouldn't have too , but there are folks out there who disagree with this whole point of view . So yes I should fear any means at all that invades my privacy to grow a plant that I really enjoy for various reasons . I am a responsible adult who makes good decisions most of the time but the majority fears what we do because we are not of the cookie cutter mold . Plain and simple . Watch the movie "enemy of the state" , that stuff is more fact than fiction . Not just all hollywood smoke and mirrors...but some viable stuff that actually exists . The way I look at it....If nobody can see what I do either on the web or behind my closed doors , Then what do I have to fear . Nothing except root rot and mold . ![]() ![]() One way or another...This darkness has got to give. ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() | um, the same http://www.grc.com that gimmik trusted to test the anonymiser proggie, touts *loudly* the effectivness of a FREE (for personal use, ALL features fully enabled) Firewall product called ZoneAlarm. ZoneAlarm is really good and if you're into protecting yourself and your PC, try it out - or at least read what Steve Gibson (the guy who runs http://www.grc.com) has to say about it. You can't help but be impressed and feel secure knowing someone of this calibre recommends a product. Firewall Scoreboard (independant testing) http://grc.com/lt/scoreboard.htm Also, if you don't want to download and install a browsing "anonymiser"...go here: http://www.anonymizer.com Works like a charm (there are many others, but I like this one because its been around like forever).
