That's a great thing to do first. I think they are just putting a power factor regulator on the line. I am thinking about doing it myself as it can save you about 10% or so on your electric bill. Next time you talk to them about this install, ask if it's also called a power factor regulator or something like that. If they ask, you can tell them you talked to an hvac guy or an electrician, or better yet an hvac electrician seriously though, google "residential power factor" here is someone's experience with a power factor regulator, you can clearly see how this could save us money. | |||
