The change in law did not change the penalty.

It ONLY changed whether or not you get yur ass hauled to the slammer......now...they JUST write a ticket.

The change only applied to 3rd class misD I think and applied to tagging, weed, and ......I don't remeber the 3rd

it's a good thing...but no major leap

current TX penaties
possession of under 2 oz....180 days/ $2000 max
sale of 1/4 ounce can get you a YEAR in jail (county)
sale to a minor...2 to 20 years in the state pen

I think anything over 2 oz is a felony. However, there is an option to arrest or give a ticket for up to 4 oz. So you would receive a ticket for a 3rd deg. felony. If you got the one cop outside of Austin (or maybe San Marcos) who would do that.
Come on vacation, leave on probation!
