![]() ![]() | This has turned into quite the interesting thread. Your comments have allowed me to thinks my own practices through. In my case I still contend the use of a storage facility currently is my best solution. Nothing is fail proof, and we know Murphy and his laws will cross our paths from time to time. It's a risky hobby we enjoy and we are only as SAFE as our weakest link, whether that be loose lips, buying equip, buying seeds, odor control, light leaks...what ever that may be...we all have a weakest link. Threads like this help me keep those links in check as time passes. As for my thoughts on odor...Odor is allot like water. It has a natural property to trans-locate, and for the most part, freely. The idea is to control what is released, not stop it's releasing. Anywhere you store your herbs needs a system to manage this threat. I ozone 15 min burst with a small gen. about the size of my hand, ever 6 hours in a triple chambered series of plastic boxes. The exterior box is vented. My unit is also located outside, at the end of a row with no easily accessible sight lines. It is well ventilated. The system works, but I'm not a fool that thinks the system can't break down. Last, my storage needs are minimal. I'm not storing mass qty. My system can control the storage of maybe 3# max. I've half this qty ever so 3# is just an edu guess. There are several other safety contingencies in play with my long term storage that I won't get into, but do play a strong roll in my decision to store in a unit. So although this system works for me, I can't say I feel secure recommending a storage unit to others, I do feel my system is the best for me, but realize I'm in a "special case" bracket. Stay safe and grow on. Last edited by jkstraw; 03-16-2008 at 08:17 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would consider it, under the right circumstances. Some have already been stated in other posts: 1) I wouldn't go to a big-name company, such as U-Haul. I'd try to pick a mom-and-pop type place that probably doesn't have any K9's on their budget. They are also less likely to care, frankly, as long as you are polite, respectful, and you pay your bill on time. 2) Not registered in my name. It would preferrably be in a fake name, if possible, so they won't have anybody to question if something happened. 3) Not in my town, or county for that matter. Seperate yourself from that area's police. 4) Never use a credit card or leave any paper trail at all between you and the unit. No receipts or statements, and don't have ANYTHING sent to your home address. 5) This would be the most important step for me. I would NEVER actually go there myself. Any pick-ups or drop-offs would have to be made by a close friend, or some other trusted person. Certainly there is a great deal of risk involved in holding down a large amount of chron in a storage unit. However, I would say there is an even larger risk in holding down a large amount of chron at your residence. There really isn't any way to make our hobby/lifestyle 100% foolproof, it's all a matter of minimizing the risks, dotting the i's and crossing the t's. Just my ![]() -Caddy

Marijuana tends to let us develop different sets and set perceptions, to see the world a little differently. To change not only what we think but how we think. That's what scares the regulators. ![]() ![]()

However, there are plenty of people out there willing to take a risk if you pay them. Not like I would put a gun to someone's head and make them do it. I've had people go out of their way to ask me if they could drive something or hold something down for me. Not my problem if that's what somebody wants to do.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm never grown enough to have any in storage. I have been growing my own since late 2003 and haven't even properly cured any buds because there wasn't enough to last 90 days, or I went on a 3 week, one month QP smoking binge. I swear. I was not working and idle time makes for busy bodies. Plas my pipe held 4-5 grams. It's been stolen and I now have a pipe that might hold 1-2 grams, and a job that will keep me out of the house several hours a day, several days per week. Smoking pot is now an after dinner mint. Call it Miller time. This time will be different. I've had the urge to snip off a bud to smoke like daily but I've held off that urge thinking about how much better the bud will be and how much more bud there will be in a few weeks when they're ready. Well to answer, No. I wouldn't use a public storage unit.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Absolutely no way in hell! I wouldn't store anything that could possibly get me in trouble with the law in a public type access place. My luck would be the person with the unit next door would be canine unit. smokie
