A person I know that was starting to grow was mouthing off to me about his equipment. He had a 1000w light for a 12'x16' room and a canister of CO2 currently. I asked him what he was going to do about odor and he said "Oh, I'm gonna get a dehumidifier and that will take care of the odor." I have also read a gj of someone who was growing 60 or so plants under 12 1000 watters and said he had a real powerful AC unit and that his 2 carbon filters weren't necessary because of it. I haven't heard of this being used as an odor control device before. Does anyone have any pennies to throw in on this? It will help to settle a bet I made with myself. -ZB

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Some dehumidifiers have an in built Ionizers....which throw out negative Ions, (negative electrical charges) airborn particles such as odour and dust are attracted to these by an effect similar to that of static electricity, they then become heavy and precipitate (fall), in turn killing any odour. They don't work that well in my experience, I tried one in a Drying cupboard, while it did help to keep the air dry, the smell was still very much noticable.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Dehumidifiers on their own do what they are designed to do, remove moisture in the air. A component of this is heat, so neither really address odor. If it happens, call it luck, by design, no odor removal, just h20 removal. | ||
