Wish we had the 4th Our leo have a new toy for rd side drug testing...if they suspect your under the influence, they wipe a swab over your steering wheel, and place it in a machine which burns it to reveal what if any drugs are present.

I really am starting to wonder if they have anything better to do....oh yeah...they shoot innocent people on tubes.

A quick Googling showed that this cheap shuck-and-jive by LEO is not uncommon in the midwest.
Can't imagine it's uncommon anywhere in these United States of America Skippy (sorry man .. the sativa is just kickin' in ) What "the man" does around here in southern new england is set up sobriety checks ... usually state highways on overpasses. I've been told state law requires a printed warning, at least one day notice ... and if you still read the paper (does anyone do that anymore?), we know to avoid the area

why on bridges?? .... what, do they think us stoners are going to run ... off the bridge?

doesn't have better things to do? than nailing people that happen to enjoy a hospitable level of being. ... perhaps while driving

please, I don't condone smoking and driving ... but it happens occasionally, so be

a skate magazine i read had a tour journal that talked about this. the tour van pulled off the highway and you can only imagine what they found seven pro skaters with.

In my area the safety checks are marked (by law) 1/2 (I believe it is 1/2) mile before the check. There are cops sitting just beyond the sign looking for people pulling u-turns though. So, this trick certainly wouldn't work everywhere.

These 'phoney' checkpoints, where the cops actually are watching for people to pull a U turn to avoid them, and then pulling THEM over, were ruled to be entrapment, and thus, unconstitutonal.

FindLaw | Cases and Codes

I guess they're trying to resurrect them under the guise of 'safety/sobriety' checkpoints. Never seen them in my area tho.

Moral: Don't carry more than you can EAT. It's not illegal to smell like KIND.

Get & watch Barry Cooper's DVD Never get busted again
Lots of free sample videos there too. VERY EDUCATIONAL!

i have been going with the not more than you can eat thing for a bit

one other thing is NEVER burn while in the car, driving or not. this dank we are growing hangs in the air for hours and get into the seats and vents forever.
since quitting cigarettes i can smell a lot better

i'd say one piece of advice then would be that if oyu get pulled. weather it be at a checkpoint or a normal pullover would be to turn off the A/C / heater so stank isnt blowing right to the window opening

and NEVER put your A/C on recirculate. bud and cigs both make the heater core and all the ductwork get a stinky nasty film on the inside

Thumbs up

Wow......

I've never come across a "fake" roadblock to catch people. But that is some insane tricky scary stuff. Things like this make me all pissed off and want to move to elsewhere. I'm thinking Australia.....
thanks for the heads up w/ all the stories. If I do see a sign indicating roadblock ahead, I'll definetly be better prepared and aware now.

i never smoke in the car, cops here smell in the car and send for dogs if any smell, othervise i dont worry about it.

they can use special testers (forget the name) that they swipe your forehead with, for a while you could lose your license even if you had been smoking a month before!

and i did, 8 months without license, that was in a small town, rife with mj paranoia though and crazy cops, i actually still havent got my license back (no way im going to pay that, i had been smoking the day before) but i drive around anyway if i need to.

only thing they can do about that anyways, is just give me a fine, which i wont pay, they could put me in jail for a couple of days, but i dont care about that, besides the jails are all full with mj people anyway, no room for a unlicensed driver. though i think i actually can get my license back by now but im not gonna pay that 3333 dollar fine, as you see things are insane in other places than U.s.a (northern europe here)
