Questions on getting seeds.....

Hello all,

I've read through these forums for a while and convinced myself that it's time to start my first ever grow op. Hopefully you guys will help me with some advice on getting off of the ground.

I was looking at some of the white widow max seeds at 420-seeds.com. Has anybody had any dealings with this site? Are the seeds worthwhile? Are they safe?

I read several of the threads on getting seeds mailed to you, but I have a somewhat unique set of problems. First off, I don't have any friends/family that will accept the packages, so alternate addresses are out of the question. When I first moved to my current address, I was getting an ass load of someone else's mail, so I taped a notice in my mailbox saying that mail with my name only was to be accepted. I think this will screw me over now because they know my name, and I think if I tried to have seeds mailed to me with a fake name they wouldn't deliver it since it isn't my name specifically. Any ideas on how to get around this?

Finally, I want to know about the penalties if I get caught (I'm in OH). I looked at the laws posted on NORML's site, but it says nothing about the possession of seeds and nothing about having them mailed over international lines. Obviously I'm kinda paranoid since I'm probably going to have to risk mailing directly to the grow site.

Thanks a ton!

Your options have been narrowed down for better or worse. I'd say have them mailed to you, dont open the package for a few weeks. Just because some company sends you something doesn't mean you're liable for the contents. Use a reputable company and you're half way there.

Ok. I had an idea to put my name as "Current Resident At" or "Valued Customer At" so it'd look like junk mail and they'd actually deliver it in my box. I'm wondering if whether or not that would void my "I don't know who send me this" story, since a company obviously wouldn't just send me stuff out of the blue. I've also never bought seeds before, so I don't know of any reputable places to buy from. Is the 420seeds place any good?

Anyone else have any input?

Most seed banks operate from out of the country. It would be pretty suspicious to receive "current resident" mail from the UK or the Netherlands. I'd go with your real name, use cash or a disposable credit card, that way it can't be traced to you. Almost always, according to what I've read on the forums (haven't had this happen to me), if your package is intercepted the seeds are just confiscated and you get a nice letter from customs. No further investigation for that particular incident. Now, it may be wise if that happens to you to not grow for some period of time, or at that address.

I've used my real name to my address before, not an ideal situation but it worked out just fine. Just limit your orders... i.e. get all the seeds you want in the near future now in one order.

Don't know anything about 420seeds, I like seedboutique and seedbay b/c they always give out freebies

You just don't get junk mail from overseas too often, do you?

I dunno, sometimes my mailbox is so full of that crap I wonder if i'm getting another country's mail

I guess that if all that customs is gonna do is send me a letter then I couldn't care less. I just hope they don't, cause I'll probably crap my pants. Then I'll have to lay low for a while. In crappy pants.

Seeds For Myself.....

I will get a cash card rfom walgreen's and register it in the name of a roommate that just moved out a few months ago. We are still getting mail in her name so I think that would work really well.

Why not just make up a fake name. No need to involve your friend
