I say, give it a try.
If you don't entertain and kind of keep to yourself like many of us here than what the hell.
I'd try to take advantage of the natural light and grow a plant accordingly. Which means waiting until spring to plant some seeds and then just let them mature there in the windows.

If you get freaked out while they are growing, you can always get rid of them.
It seems like you will just need to give it a go. If you can't abate the smell when the time comes then you'll cross that bridge then.

Peace- OD

northern lights and papaya are some low odour strains, theres bound to be lots more.

my papaya, never really smells like mj, could be easily hidden by other plants.

i thought of the same as you, get some really smelly plants to hide the mj.i´d do this with my papaya, if i lived on the third floor of my building, but im the second and my patio is easily visible by surrounding houses and pathways.

the smell, well this depends alot on weather and surrounding foilage.

have something smelly on your patio for a few days, walk around and see if you can smell it, most importantly, see if you can detect where the smell is coming from. or find anyplace to see where you would put the mj.

freak weathers could bring the smell down though. do you know the weather well were you are?

dunno, just some thoughts.

i agree with outdoors, i´d probably do it, like i said just some thoughts on quieting paranoia.
maybe make sure no helicopters can spot it if there are any helicopters there looking for such.

but if i was sure, no one could spot it, id probably go for it, visitors are rare at my house though and my strains dont smell that much, so ...

i used to grow some in my living room, the glare from the sun on my windows hid the plants and when it was shady, the other plants i grew, hid them, unfortunetly, 5 inches further out (beyond the window) wouldave been great (the window took too much sun) but then id been in full view of the street, a floor up however id been safe "outdoors".

if you dont want to spend big bucks for a carbon filter, you can get an automated ozium dispenser for around 15 or 20 bucks, ozium is probably one of the best oder eliminators there are and i would imagine it could easily kill the smell of 2 or 3 plants.
