I am looking to grow about 3 plants organically in front of a patio...my concern is, 1) This is not stealthy, though i think i could pick them up and hide them in a closet. 2) the smell would be incredible, and without the grow being enclosed, i would have issues with this situation. Also, i would be concerned about the humidity levels. Any suggestions guys? I just know that i get AWSOME dirrect sunlight into my apartment for all the morning and half of the afternoon. Any suggestions appreciated guys, Cat

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Cat, I think that it sounds like something possible one could do in a remote area with acreage with no visitors but I probably wouldn't do it in an urban area unless it was MMJ friendly and you had a script. ![]()

![]() ![]() | I am on the third story(last story) of an apartment complex....and it's definately a small town setting, however my building is very MJ friendly..(everyone smokes here.) Just really concerned about the smell because there aren't any other rooms for it to go through before it's in the hallway. I just get this blinding light through every windown in my house everyday and i'm like "damn it, i used to pay 50 bucks a month to get that kind of light." Thanks for the advice, i am just mainly concerned about the smell, the rest of the grow i can handle. Thanks for the response. cat!

![]() ![]() | blue..(frown) any suggestions to make it stealthier? I was thinking about hanging a tapestry...put them behind it...and then get an exhaust fan and cover the window so you can't see it exhausting...i have two spots i could put them...even in the bedroom...or in the living room living room has the patio window to give seven feet of straight light instead of the 4 feet from the bedroom window.) I just soo love the idea of not having an electricity bill.... thanks for responding..keep em coming! Thanks, cat

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well then mostly I'd be concerned about the smell. Hmmmmmm. You can do something about the smell drifting in to the apartment with a standalone scrubber - bought or DIY. As for the smell on the patio drifting out, I don't know (IDK). I converted an old huge HEPA room filter by filling the inner area with 5 lbs. of activated carbon. Works great for an apartment, I have it mounted off the ground. But sucking in all the MJ smell from outside would have its work cut out for a fan unless maybe it was really powerful. Photoperiod is getting kind of late for northern hemiphere ![]() .

I am scared stiff to grow in my house, LOL. I can't imagine growing outside in town. You got balls for even thinking about it.

![]() ![]() | not outside....me ballsy, not crazy (grin) This is a patio window....or the bedroom window. the plants would be inside....both windows are really hard to look into during the day because they reflect glare....the sunlight is DIRECT...it heats the apartment like crazy...however, look at all that beautiful light!!!!!!!!!!!!! er...did i mention free light? And since the air conditioner is on all the time during the summer, a cool 70 degrees inside. Also even with the blinds across the window, the light is still intense, and it would stop any direct view inside my house...third floor does wonders too because you have to be across the lake in back to even get far enough away to see clearly into the house( and that is the backyards of the wealthy people here) . Also you notice if anyones along this little pond....it's just too hard for humans to blend in really. no marshland ect....lined with rocks. I was thinking about purchasing an ozone generator...but i have pets...so it makes me a little nervous..but the smell issues makes me even more nervous....and tapestries don't keep pets out..(sigh) if i have to i'll get a baby gate to block em out. Yes i know the light change would be an issue...i have flos i can put up to get it vegging the way i want it.After that they can go into the window, regardless, the time frame of the sun can always be controlled...I'll just get a black tapestry and block out the other six hours of light during the winter, and i knew i would have to have one at night anyways....(want to do that because of the outside lights at night)( gotta love that a damn pinhole of light during the night cycle can reduce your yield by a huge percentage) I would move the vegging operation to the bedroom....since it would show light. I'm also going to decorate my apartment with fish and legal plants...that way I could blend everything in. Also it would explain soil transfers and so forth coming from the apartment. I was thinking that tall gardenias would work out on the porch itself....add some coliuses, and some elephant ears.....maybe lavender and rosemary. that will stop the view, smell outside, *frown* just trying plot the best form of action.....the most stealthy and cost effective way i can. I also have a opaque martha stewart closet, but i didn't know if the intensity of the light would be limited too much because of the opaqueness. also, since it's enclosed i would probably have to install an exhaust fan...(sigh) more work than i wanted to do. Ideas guys? Thanks for replying, i'm getting alot of ideas. Happy Growing, Cat

![]() ![]() | ahhh shoot, i have that backwards, i would probably suppliment the sunlight that will be missing in the winter..(UGH) sorry, the photo period would be longer during the summer. I'm just wondering would a flo be enough for the other 6 hours that would be needed during the winter? I want to believe it would be just like a cloudy day. Okay please give me suggestions guys!
