Dude...I was thinking of something exactly like this before I bought my canfan filter. Great job. I noticed that nearby the pencil holders (at least in my local Wal-Mart) there are little office wastebaskets made by the same company that are the same style only larger than the pencil holders.

Perhaps these can be used to make a larger filter for a larger grow?

So what was the overall cost?

Maybe its not the filter. You might need a better fan. What type of fan are you using? Some fans can not handle back pressure.

I have the same problem with my panasonic whisper bathroom fan. It is the "green" version with a variable speed DC motor. When there is back rpessure, it speeds up to keep a constant CFM. But with the little fan filter, it could not keep temps within a reasonable range (flowering cab is 23x15x70). I only use the can filter for security now when I have people over and when the girls are asleep; so the temps don't skyrocket.
