![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I made one with a lager wire trash basket. I wish I took pics because it is cool as hell Basically, Target has a wire basket that is about 1 foot tall by 8" opening and made of black wire. Then, while perusing the rest of the fine establishment I found these cool filters that have 3 parts to them. They fit in your normal forced air heating filter spot and have 1 layer of carbon type filter, then a foam type, then a plastic mesh for rigidity. I took apart the filter and broke it into the three parts. then I inserted it into the waste basket and unfortunately it did not fit. So I cut off the remnant and used it to fill in where there was no filter material. Then I did the same with the foam but i reversed sides so the pieced in part is on opposite sides of the trashcan. then I used the plastic mesh to hold everything against the inside of the trashcan. After this was done I needed some more carbon in there so I bought some at the local pet store... I just filled in the space between the carbon filter portion and the foam portion keeping resistance on it with the plastic mesh. It was tough and needs some manual dexterity but the end result sits under my 6" canfan. I have not smelled my plants since!!! and.. now that it is built. I just have to replace the carbon when I start to get whiffs... Thanks again for the idea.. couldnt have done it without you.

Alright so since my last post I made and mounted this bad boy, really simple. The only problem initially was keeping the little cup inside the other so i decided to pack the carbon in as much as i could and it stayed. Thanks for this great post again! Keep it green. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | _Alright I noticed a brainstorm earlier in the thread that intrigued me. I have literally no options for ventilation in my closet, and it was mentioned that this would make a good room air filter. Has anyone tried this? Would it be possible to remove the smell from recycled air with this? I grow in a very deep closet that allows for the air away from the lights to cool and drop. I think this may work...I don't have odor problems yet but I'm sure I will with GDP. Sucks I live in a antfarm... -Stinky Cat

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have flowered with this and it works....... but I believe I have way to much airflow for one of these small ones so I built two...... still too much airflow restriction........ with smaller fans they do work ... although I have the stanley blower ....... so I have networked two filters together with a tee adapter ...... it helps a lot but for my situation I need one or two more or just may build another larger scrubber......... st_n_y cat I am sure if you could get the proper CFMs you could scrub a small space.......how many plants becuz all I used it for was one LSTd plant!!

![]() | Tried your way, pencil cups pissed me off... found better way hope ya dont mind... Jo-anns walmart - 2$ cross stitch hoops... take panty hose, Put hoop in panty hose fill panty hose evenly with carbon Place outer loop around panty hose and inner loop, with inner loop still inside the sock item Pull tight.... tighter... Tie off... Tada!!! Also works better for low powered fans And you can get the bigger hoops for bigger exauhsts. | ||
