my apartment manager is very pesky, i've had work crews/inspectors/handymen in mine 8 times in the past 8 months. i usually fix whatever i can afford to myself, and use the closets to the best of my ability. over 2 years...so far so good.

i had a grower friend that used the "at home sick" trick all the time. if/when landlord popped up with the "inspections", even when they were 24hr advance notice, he would call the landlord, put on the best sick act ever, coughing, hacking, wheezing, the whole bit. worked like a charm, even one time the landlord showed up with a real estate appraiser and he locked himself in the growroom (basement) and "caughed" and "wheezed" loudly the whole time they were there, they came and left rather quickly, lol.
