im thinking about growing in the US and i just have a few questions about the whole thing. first, how likely is it that the police or law enforcement will show up at my house for ordering seeds online? secondly, how bad to the plants smell when they grow? thirdly, why do you need all those lights and stuff to grow herbs? why cant it just be old fashion with good soil, fertilizer, and water? oh and i solely want to smoke my herbs with me and my friends and cant i just throw that Mexican mersh seeds in the ground and see what happens? i mean after they are seeds and should grow something right? i could be wrong on all of this so any advice would be appreciated

Second... smell is very strain dependant... I had one plant in a cab in my garage that my buddy could smell from the street when he drove up... made a scrubber the next day. Third... You needs lights if you want to grow indoors... plants don't grow well in the dark , and MJ likes a LOT of light. You can certainly throw some beans in the ground and see what happens... Good luck and read lots

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | All of the above.Let me save you some time: LIGHT IS THE KEY! Regular light bulbs won't do it. Fluorescents work and you might spend a few $$ messing around with those spiral CFLs. After a while though the costs of fixtures, reflectors, power consumption and heat distribution may really start to add up. If you want to keep things simple, and you are on a budget, order a 150W HPS (high pressure sodium) online. They are cheap, not too hot, don't use too much power, and are VERY effective. Most new growers go out and try a bunch of different set-ups and waste all kinds of money. I wish I would have listened when I was first told this. I order lights and other supplies online, right to my address, and even with my own credit card - though some might think that foolish. IMO there is nothing illegal about it and I think it beats the alternative of driving to the store and getting cased out. I have heard stories about record confiscation, etc. but do you think the feds are going to spend time on 1 guy with a 150W HPS order? Perhaps they might look into pursuing an order for 6 1000W HPS lights and a gallon of liquid nutrients, etc. Again, ordering a grow light is not illegal. I use them for growing my tomatoes. Seeds are a different story and I am totally paranoid about ordering them through the mail. To put it simply, mailing cannabis seeds is a federal offence. WAY illegal. I know people who just order away though like they were nothing, but I don't. Good breeding is very very important, though I would rather smoke 3rd gen Mexican sensi that was grown and cured with TLC. That's my rant - I welcome counterpoints with thick skin.
