I use passive IRB's... Tried DWC... but I killed them all... Honestly I think one of the kids added more ferts thinking more would be better, but I can't be sure... all I know is that they were fine one day and brown and krispy the next

If hempy counts, I have done some in hydro. Lettuce works great in a hempy as well as peppers.

Ya,I do.To be honest,My grandfather and father both have the "Greenthumb" and I learned from watching them in there gardens.I grew MJ before I did anything else.Once I had a "little one" I stopped growing and used all the hydro info that I learned to grow veggies, herbs, and fruits. My Grandfather has past and I cant get my father out of the dirt for anything, even though I out grow him 3 to 1 .I have one of those dwarf lime trees and they are really easy to grow.Really most things grown in soil is "Water,Watch, and Wait".Heavy on the wait part.In soil I find myself making mistakes because of the time factor. When something is performing as I think it should,I tend to go down the list of "What should I do or add to help this out" when all it needs is time to do it thing.

Strawberries also grow well in pure perlite... I read an article in MaximumYield magazine that said a lot of pro growers do indoor strawberries that way... I gave a copy of the mag to the gerden center lady after she questioned why I wanted 4 large bags of perlite in November

I have started (by started I mean I bought cuttings from a nursery and planted them in the hempy) strawberries in hempies but they all turned south. I think I ended up burning them. However, after planting them outside, they rebounded nicely. They were in the hempies for a good 5 months and all of them went south around the same time.
