I wonder if there are any plants that would be bad to have in the grow room. I'm thinking pollen or pest issues. I know not to bring outside plants in, talking about starting vegetable garden seeds.

SpiderMites Love Snowpeas... I would not have them any where near my growroom

Have you ever had spidermite issues prior to the snowpeas? I have never seen a single mite in my rooms so I am wondering if I am opening pandora's box if I plant snowpeas in my basement.

Yes... I've had mites before...but last winter my sons snowpeas in the house were just covered with them... you could see lines of them walking along the bars of his shelves... the peas got destroyed the day he noticed them

actually i was just mentioning something about this in the tomato varities thread. at the veg house i have royal black peppers, jalapeno, kung pao, bolivian rainbow. other plants in there or that have been in there to name a few.. coleus, peyote, san pedro
