45 is one of the most cost effective rounds to shoot. magsafe ammo is real cheap and semi good {if you dont reload, the cases are aluminum.}

also check out cheaper than dirt, tasco, georgia arms, darkstar, j&g arms in payson az,

these are all high volume mail order oriented places.

wolf ammo is affordable and reliable. but dont shoot it through a gun where the chamber counts. {ie any match grade gun, bolt action rifle etc} anything semi auto will be fine. some ar's with tight target chambers wont like it.

I have an CIA pocket knife. It comes in it's own sheath. It's a Swiss Army knife with the CIA logo. It's probably classified, but it has knive and scissors. A toothpick and tweezers. It's either a promotional tool that's given out to people who rat out the neighbors, or it's an official tool given out to agents in the field.

I want it to be an official item of improtance, but the CIA may offer tours, and this could be a party favor. Maybe my dad was CIA, but if that was the case, I'm and sure he would have killed me had he told me.

get a rifle and pistol in .22 caliber, you can hone your skills on the cheap. heck, i know you can't look cool firing a .22, but trigger time is trigger time!

i like wolf ammo for plinking. i did a test on some wolf 7.62x39, i left some rounds out side for a couple of months, they were left out in a opened ammo can, they got rained on and sun baked. no miss fires at all. now on the other hand, i got surplus, turk 8mm, that you can count to 3 before they go off after you pull the trigger....lol

got 3 rifles all mini's; one mini-14 stainless with a 40 round clip a mini thirty with a 30 round clip, and a AC556 (military law enforcemetn version of mini-14) that is full auto with a beta drum 90 rounds. the ac556 sitts with a folding tapco stock under my end table in a corner of the room less than 2 feet from my sitting chair. the others are closely placed at all the other entry points of the house like side doors back door.

pistols i got a pair of old CZ-52's with harrington pins and muzzle breaks and trigger enhancemnts, they shoot the vest busting 7.62X25mm round, 55 grain projetile @ 1600fps+ with every other bullet in the clips alternate between a full metal jacet then a mag-safe frangible then FMJ again etc. also just picked up the new ruger SR9, and recently got my glock 18 kit, so my glock spits full auto

and yes i got a gun i actually found while doing community service once it's a PIC .32 revolver with duct tape and paper towel grips for the "setup gun" if needed.

got a springfield XDM in .40 but i really dont like striker fired pistols at all other than the sr9 cause the sr9 is just a bad ass striker fired pistol andd the glock well its a full auto so that dont count.

in a perfect world i would have 5 fully loaded S&W .460 XVR's performance center models with big long barrels, i like accuarcy, hence the mini's.

but guns have a place in society and i bring my kids up from an early age to respect and learn guns, instead of just hidding them from the kid, and have him find one one day and hurt himself or others i have had him shooting since he was 9 years of age.

that's paramount if you have children and guns, dont hide them and hope nothing ever happens even if the clipp is out and empty still they could load a revolver easily. so i make sure my kids know that these things are not like in the movies were you get shot and keep fightning, they know that once that trigger gets pulled you cant take the action back. and any type of GSW could be fatal. they fear and respect guns.

sorry for the rant if it was? but i had a cousin of mine shoot himself with a model 29 44 mag 15 years ago on accident playing with the damn thing. he was putting one bullet in the chamber and playing a sort of russian roulette, but not actually putting the gun to his head and pulling the trigger, no he was spinning the cylinder and cocking the hammer back and just kinda observing were the bullet was in the cylinder after he was done he left the hammer back the live chamber and later on before my uncle got home he frantically was putting all the shells back in the gun and pow!! accidental discharge to th e head just as his dad was pulling in the driveway.

if properly educated about the dangers of firearms this would of never happend, and by the way the gun was always kept empty and the bullets hidden in a lock box.

i think you have hit a very important subject, indicapro. Teaching your children to respect guns. Firearm education is of vital importance.
My son has shot everything from a .410 shotgun to a .50 caliber black powder muzzle loader (Davy Crockett style).

I agree! I don't keep ANY bullets for my .30 carbine in my house. I have two small kids, and I am a firm believer in the saying; "Their is no such thing as an accident".
Thats also why I have smoke alarms and fire extinguishers in my growroom. Maybe Im a bit paranoid, but its better safe than sorry.

I have taken my younger brother (he is 8) shooting though. Only a .22, but he was very responsible with it.

I have been shooting and hunting since I have been old enough to hold a gun. And I must say, I am a deadly with shotguns and open sights. Luckily my parents bought me a Benjamin Sheridan .177 cal pellet gun when I was real little. I am an absolute ace with it still to this day. It is by far the best investment in a pellet gun for young kids interested in shooting. I am pretty good with scoped weapons and I guess my weakness is pistol shooting. But I blame my pistol for the inaccuracy because I definitely shoot at the range quite a bit and when using something a little higher quality I see remarkable differences.

I just hate my current pistol b/c it is double action with a tough trigger pull, damn cheap smith and wesson. It causes a bit more movement than I want when firing as the hammer goes all the way back then forward each time and my shots arent as precise as I am use too. I need to just upgrade to a single action.

As for .22, I got enough already

Hey Freako I got a .50 caliber muzzle loader myself but still havent fired it yet... It is just collecting dust in my gun closet. Now that I think about it, I have had it about 10 years and should probably go ahead and see how the beasts shoots. Thanks for reminding me about it

As for my favorite baby, its a stainless steel barrel custom edition ruger red label over and under. It drops skeet and dove like a madman. The stainless steel barrel is heavy and adds great steadiness when shooting.

Luke I am not looking for cost effective rounds. I just like to venture to the indoor range and put a couple 100 rounds through without breaking my bank account

Cheers All!
