Word of advice to all......go buy ammo NOW. By fall (primary hunting season) ammunition prices are predicted to skyrocket much like gas prices have over the last few years.

Just a friendly warning. Don't complain 6 months from now when your paying double or triple would you may pay today.

nugthug....i wont be surprised if in 6 months you can still buy ammo!

i dont "waste" ammo like i did in the pre y2k days. i have been hording ammo and supplies since before back then. i still shoot often, but now its mostly .22 rim fire.
i would suggest yall have at least 100 rds per pistol, shot gun, bolt rifle, and 1000 rds per assault rifle. and a dozen frags.....j/k.

Some of my friends have also been talking about making their own ammunition because it will be cheaper and more self sufficient in the long run.

500 box of 22 LR rimfire is first on my list.

What makes people think that ammo is going to be hard to buy, or even more expensive in the near future? I am NOT AT ALL saying it isn't, but what is the reasoning behind thinking it is? Has there been some new "bill" or legislation passed? Seems like a bad political decision if so...

Never been that big on handguns, though quite a few of my friends have pistol permits, I have no desire to carry a firearm around daily, I'm a country boy, home protection is the only thing I want a gun for, aside from hunting. Here's probably my home protection dream weapon. Luckily I'm a carpenter, as if you ever had to use it, I imagine there'd be some remodeling/repair work after. AA12 fully automatic shotgun. I remember when you could still buy "The Streetsweeper" a semi-auto drum fed one, used to be ads in the back of sporting magazines for them, wish I'd gotten one. This baby takes it to the next level.

The day Obama won the election gun sales hiked up like crazy and so did ammo. Now many areas are experiencing gun and ammo shortages, and will continue for quite some time I believe.

Democrats typically dont support a lot of gun rights(example:http:///en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_Weapons_Ban, so a lot of people went crazy in fear of losing gun rights again.

I have nothing against guns and no issues with pretty much anyone owning one. I do not personally own one myself but that is based on my choice in women...I likes em crazy and wild, so if one of them is going to shoot me she is going to have to bring her own gun.
