  | im not trying to be all up in this conversation but Cancer.. i was once told the dying words of a pacifist was "damn, i should of bought a gun"......... my wife isnt violent but she understands that there are people out there who are. im happy to hear different opinions on any topic but personal safety these days sohuld be taken very seriously even if you buy a can of pepperspray.

| I am a VBP, Or Very Bad Person in the eyes of firearms permits. I am an ex-felon.  Therefore, it is impossible for me to get guns, legally. Here in ILL-inois (state is ill in the bad way), I can't even have Blackpowder or airguns over a certain velocity they are considered firearms. That being said, I live in a BAD neighborhood- Cops will pat you down for a weapon, and if you don't have one they give you one to even the odds. I take MY security VERY seriously. I have excellent doors/locks, and a security door on the front of the apartment house, and a friendly neighbor who is nosy enough to watch strangers, not nosy enough to care what I do, and a killer alarm- it takes video, sends it out via a wireless signal if it goes off, and calls my phone to alert me. I cant watch pix on phone, but I get an alarm message and can call cops. ( I plan on making call like " hey i just saw a guy go into that window, come quick!"). As far as guns go, better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6., so now to the on-topic part...... If I had guns- which I do not admit to, being a FELON (reverb, please) I would opt, for say a nice revolver in a .45 long colt (I'm a big guy. need a full-size gun) I can down-load the .45 long to a still-decent round, but not enough to hunt bears with. I used a reduced charge with wadding to keep the powder tight against the primer. I also have a .44 mag., I love this one cause I can shoot preloaded .44 special, and they do ok, even if they have a bit of a jump from cylinder to barrel. I also enjoy the simplicity of my (oops I mean if i had one) .40 glock. I think the .40 is a nice little all-around round, way better than 9mm but not all the kick of a .45 acp. Plus I prefer a DAO auto, never liked the 'cocked-n-locked' 1911-style pistols. For long guns, IMO, if i had them, I would keep a 870 12-gauge pump- 12 gauge being the most versatile in the world, tons of loads in stores, everything from slugs to birdshot. Plus I imagine the pump being worked - clik/KLACK would make an intruder shit their pants. Next one im going for - if i had guns which i don't- is gonna be a lever action carbine, likely in .45/70 government. Love this round for hunting, it'll do a deer (downloaded) to a moose or bear.

| yeah forgot the 13 1/2 one. What Absolutely PISSES ME OFF is the federal blanket ban - ANY felony, ANY crime, even if non-violent, no matter what, you can NEVER be in possession of ANY firearm or ammo at ANY time for ANY reason. I mean, seriously, Fuckin what the fuck?? Who are they to say? Unless, of course, you apply to the state for restoration of "rights" ....if they are your rights they can't be taken away, they are your 'privileges' .....but I can NEVER apply, since I have TWO of the fuckers.You can't apply in ILL-inois, anyway, and restoration goes by state-of-conviction. Anyone know of a state, soft on MJ and guns? Best I've found are WI. (no-one caress about guns, you just can't buy em in stores, and less than 10 plants = misdemeanor) and Co. - guns mid-way between Il. an WI., medical MJ possible. Any tips? man i gotta get outa this messed up state.
