No guns at my house, despite the fact my gf wants me to get one. Instead I bought some fake security stickers and a sign. I also have two rotti's, but I wouldn't expect them to do anything except bark.

i have a lot of hunting guns that i keep in a cabinet and i have an SKS under my bed and a 357 in a kitchen drawer.

i had a neighbor come home and found nothing but his dogs head left on its chain. wolfs kill quite a few dogs around here. especially with as much snow as we have, they have trouble killing moose and deer so they start killing peoples dogs.

so whenever i see a wolf come through the yard, i grab the pistol and make some noise. i have never seen a wolf stick around after a few 357 rounds go over his head

Seriously guns? that's really the last thing you want. Especially if you have any priors besides, statistics show that most likely they will be turned against you. One example if someone creeps in empty handed, then finds your piece in the bathroom, next thing you know he's armed with your piece. That's just one secenario. I know I'm off topic but your best bet is a Visable deterent such as signs..(someone posted already) along with 1 or 2 attack "type" dogs such as german shepards, rottis, pit bulls etc. The key is visible deterent...beware of dog signs etc.

I'm assuming this is for the home grower, not commercial op. karma man karma

Marlin 22 long rifle - 10 round magazine

Remington 870 express 12 gauge

J.C. Higgins 12 gauge full choke

Mosin Nagant 7.62 x 54 mm

These guns are used for hunting with exception to the Mosin which is WW2 military surplus collector. Once in a while they might get an occasional trigger session on clay or targets. Other than that they remain cased and unloaded.

I don't have plants indoors so they two remain completely seperated. I want to expand my gun collection but I've been rather hesistant since most of my shooting is hunting and I've been subject to university anti - gun laws for years. Eventually a handgun and SKS may be acquired for both target shooting and PP.

Also should also be inherting my grandpa's WW2 phillipine theatre shotgun. It has two pieces - one is a barrel piece (male) and the other is the female portion of the barrel ajoined with to the stock. The two pieces connect and disconnect quite easily and the gun is basically meant to fire under any condition.

To fire drop a shell down the tube and ram the male piece into the female piece which will lock them together and trigger the round.....your whole hand jamming the barrel is basically the trigger.

Alright enough about my guns.......in all seriousness.........as if you all don't already know guns are incredibly powerful things.....and I don't keep one on my person, in my car, or loaded in the house. I have no beef with keeping a loaded gun in your house for personal protection but I definitely wouldnt recommend it if your growing because LEO will defnitely repo it and slap you with additional charges. Now that doesnt mean if you have guns you shouldnt grow indoors, I just wouldnt keep them loaded, and also lock them up in a seperate location. Some may have different opinions.....that's cool.

i know alot of you like to stash guns around your house. one in the kitchen drawer, shottie behind the door etc.

this is a really bad idea. if someone enters your home unarmed for a simple robbery... well lookie there they just stumbled across your piece.

now you face the very real possibility of having to face the felon you just armed, defending yourself against your own weapon.

if your gun is not within your arm span it would be unloaded and locked away.

for home defense i rely on the old scatter gun having a wife and kid in the house, letting off high velocity pistol rounds is 100% out of the question.

id be glad to demonstrate the piss poor man stopping capabilities and over penetrating tendencies of the 9mm.

if i must use the 1911 for home defense it always stays packed with glaser or magsafe. some sort of frangible round that wont kill my kid on an errant shot/miss/deflection

I totally agree. Most likely, a person growing 20 plants and keeps firearms near his grow is not a wise thing when the Man knocks your door down. But for those who keep a crop of 5-10 plants for personal use, it would be wise to safely stores their firearms behind lock&key well away from being associated with "drug related violence"

Trigger locks with the key hidden nearby is also wise

No guns in the house, not even a baseball bat. I do own
a gun though, but its been stored at my parents house since
the mid nineties when I stopped going skeet shooting all
of the time. I have no problem with gun ownership--I love
the bill of rights!

However, I live in a sleepy, safe little suburb. If I lived in the
country or in the inner city I would probably have it, stored
unloaded and safely in my house somewhere. To be honest
I don't think I could shoot someone unless I was absolutely faced
with no other choice. I'd probably be the guy who hesitated, so
its probably better that I don't pretend I'm gonna use one for
home protection.

So if your growing, your rights to personal protection are to be given up.
