![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Knowboddy, ever see those locking , magnetic rings for pistols? Magloc Smart Gun Conversion System from SMART LOCK TECHNOLOGY INC. They are made to keep the pistol from firing unless you are wearing a special, magnetic ring. I don't know about trusting it to let an intruder find the gun, point it at me, then hope it doesn't fire, but you could always double the safety factor, and have the gun unloaded, or do something like remove the firing pin......" officer, how was I supposed to remember the gun wouldn't fire? 2 A.M., someone points a gun at you, you're supposed to test-fire it first?" Reminds me of a science-fiction short story I read once ( Bicycle Repairman, by Bruce Sterling) where a guy lives in a slum/free zone, and keeps a nice weapon in plain view.....wired to a 50,000 volt shocker. First thing a thief MUST touch is a weapon. I'm not advocating a booby-trap of a disabled gun, wired to shock a thief if they go to grab it, I'm just relating a story. ( ) ![]() Of course, never try something like that where there are children around. But if a prospective thief complains, well he shouldn't be stealing in the first place. Something like that should be easy to arm with a security system.......... hmmmm now where did I put my soldering iron?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I got a spikes tactial lower(stripped), and will most likely put the RRA 2 stage trigger lower parts kit in it. I have read pretty good things about thier lpk, and am not trying to spend a fortune. I am kind of leaning towards RRA for the upper as well, since its my first build, I figure a solid middle of the line parts kit will be fine. Or maybe CMMG. I know I want a 16inch(most likely Wilson barrel), midlength, with a flat top. Thats about as far as I have decided, there are just way to many options. I like the hogue full fingered grips, and still undecided on a stock Optics is waaaaaay down the line, hard to imagine dropping over 500$ just yet for a scope heh, but I eventually will put some kind of holographic on it. Not really looking for long range match accuracy, just something to fart around in the woods with. Give me a few months and I will try to get a pic, the lower isnt much to look at yet except for the nifty red spider logo. Luckily parts are becoming cheaper and really easy to find after the initial "election scare." What was taking 9 months to ship can now be done in a matter of days. Now only if the price of ammo will go down, that would be a blessing to everyone!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just want to chime in that I hate this thread. It just makes me uncomfortable that we have a gun thread on a marijuana growing forum. Guns and weed = bad combination. Might even draw unwanted attention to our friendly little garden. I own guns myself. Several in fact but there's gotta be a million other gun threads in gun forums without needing to have a penis measuring contest in the garden. Does anyone feel that this lends credence to the argument that growers are dangerous people armed to the teeth which I feel is not true on the whole.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Now, Now, I have determined that my penis is 3 and 1/2 inches of blue-steel diamond cutter. Or is it 13? I forget. Anyway, why not have a thread that says Guns- your opinions? Your OPINIONS, not Guns- how many machine guns do you deal to terrorists? but "your opinions." I refuse to look at it in the sense that people will now think we are all armed to the teeth. After all, there are a few on here who have posted about having LARGE numbers of plants- way over any limit- but no-one says now people will see all growers as "black market growers" or whatever. What you mean is, I think, you hate the thought of guns + illegal grows. I'm assuming you don't care if a legal grower has 1 plant and a .22 rifle? Or do you hate the fact that people talk about guns here? If weed is legal for you to grow, and guns are legal for you, what's the big deal? The way I figure it, guns came first for me, and I am not going to get rid of them for the sake of growing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes future grower, I think you've characterized my opinion accurately. Like I said I own lots of guns, for hunting, plinking, and for fun. It just makes me uncormfortable under the heading of security to see a gun forum. It doesn't bother me at all that people own guns. IT doesn't bother me that people grow (although I am a little uncomfortable when people openly discuss obvious commercial grows). I just feel a growing forum is not the place to have a gun forum too - not a good mixture IMO.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Guns are a hobby, and so is growing. People who buy guns to protect their grows, well that just means they are probably doing it commercially. Anyone who gets busted growing commercially I really have no sympathy for anyways. When I grew, it was solely for the purpose of providing myself with the best product I could find to treat my situation. Not to make a dollar. As long as people dont post pictures up of their guns with large amounts of plants in the background, I could careless. You arent going to be the one who gets in trouble if something happens, they will. Just dont be stupid.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Interesting how some find a gun forum in the security section of a cannibus cultivation website unsettleing. This year alone I must have read stories from a dozen members of this site, who reported being ripped of their outdoor grows. Im not saying or advocating those members rush out and arm themselves to protect their grows, but the option should be theirs to choose what level of deterence fits the situation. If enough websites that address cannibus cultivation openly talk about firearms maybe the rippers out there wont pigeon hole the pot growers as an easy mark or target of a rippoff. Historically the pot grower was an easy mark for thieves maybe these types of conversations will reverse that trend based on deterance alone. That we as growers are willing to mix our firearms with thieves that think were all a bunch of ageing peace loving hippies. Unfortunatly im sure lots of rippers think this way. We need to change their attitude.
