![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not so sure about guns and outdoor grows, unless the outdoors is your property. I really hate the forest preserve growers- that land is for EVERYONE not just them, and I feel that if you put the grow on public land to try and avoid the penalty if caught, well then accept the risk of getting ripped. Once it is on public land you give up "ownership" of it. I'd hate for someone to brace me with a gun- or shoot me- because I am enjoying my forest preserve only to find some paranoid asshole thinking I'm scoping his crop. If the grow is outdoors, on public land, and someone wants to rip you off, a gun won't help. Either they'll shoot back, or come back later, or tell the cops and get the grow busted anyway, or mention it to someone else who will do one of those. Unless, of course, you want to commit murder over weed. ![]()

We all have choices to make of course but I feel our friendly little garden here is lessened in some way by having a gun thread. It feeds our critics. For me personally, I think it's reprehensible to steal someone's grow but it would be far more reprehensible to shoot them for it unless said grow was located in one's house in which case, my high minded principles take a back seat to my glock. ![]() We should all continue to take the high road IMHO. Keep on the sunny side and not give as we get but rather give as we'd like to receive. J.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You are not more likely to be busted because you talk about having a gun... and growing... If for some reason your grow is busted, it has nothing to do with this site, unless you are a complete idiot and give away your grow location! So for those who like to share information about guns, who frickin cares??

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Has anyone tried the Judge, the .410 revolver? I'm looking into one of them for a kit gun. at 32 ounces, they are a bit heavier than most would like for a kit gun, but hey, you have a choice of .410 or .45 Long Colt. you can get anything you want in the .410, from birdshot to buckshot. Not saying it'll regularly take a deer, but I like buckshot from a .410 for defense, esp. defense for those that hate recoil. The three or four .25 caliber pellets you get in a .410 , 00 buckshot must hit almost like a three round burst from a submachine gun! (1800 fps on some loads). Plus you can make the .410 take rabbit and squirrels no problem. Of course, if you run into the killer bunnys you could always go for the .45 Long Colt. There's not to many things the .45LC won't deal with , IMHO. So, has anyone shot them? are they worth it?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you, your buddy or his mom ever tried a .45LC in one? what barrel length did she get? I want one cos it seems to be the most versatile revolver around. Well, aside from the Medusa, but I believe the Medusa is discontinued. Chambers and fires about 25 different calibers. Anything in .38/.357/9mm <<<<LINK THERE. Oh, and that also includes .30 carbine. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i was able to test fire a judge(3 inch barrel) awhile back. i shot with both .410 and .45 long colt. the first shot was fired with buck shot and at 7 yards out. i aimed center mass and hit my point of aim, with a group about the size of a 50 cent piece. 15 yards with buck shot, the group was about pie size, and out beyond 25 yards, misses. with the .45lc it was about the same grouping. as for the recoil, its stiff to say the least, a small women or kid would have trouble getting off a second shot. i think the pistol is to bulky and heavy for a ccw carry. but it could be a under the pillow gun, and get you some time to get out some real fire power..lol

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah I wanted the longer barrel for that reason, nark-o. I want one for a kit gun- one you throw in your gear and use in the back country. I was thinking of the 6" barrel for that reason- less muzzle jump and better accuracy. As far as ccw goes I'd stick with something like a .40 auto or .45 (I'm a big guy and can hide a sizable gun). And yeah I'd imagine the .45LC is a heavy recoil in the judge. But it's there if you need it- and they say, if you ever have to fire a .45LC when no other round will do, you won't feel the recoil. You'll be too busy soiling yourself! ![]()
