Man, all those picks of guns and rifles etc makes me itchy enough to buy couple weapons for my home protection.
Maybe all of you big gun collectors can help me make the right choice.

Here is my choices.

Picks 1,2)
For personal protection, I'm thinking of getting one of those with the long scope, you know, so I can get the intruder from, what like 5-10 miles away before he gets to my home?
But there is a second choice.

3,4)
For home protection, you know, helicopters over head hamvies in the front door I'm thinking one of those, or a collection of them as pick four.
I mean, if you going to kill, wtf take a whole bunch.

Opinions and suggestions welcomed.

Dont underestimate a good thermonuclear warhead. LMAO
But , id go with the long rifle, but upgrade to a thermo scope. That way you can just shoot them before they come in the door. Keeps the mess youll have to clean up outside and off your carpets.

I didn't read the rest of the thread, this is just the first post the popped up. so if this is a repeat...sorry

but .22's are the gun of choice by most snipers for closer range firing. I've heard of people getting blasted in the head with a higher caliber and it goes straight through the perfect spot, and they survive.

with a .22, it just bounces around in your skull.

ouch

I used to have guns. now, if someone wants to rob me, I'll give it too them. dead serious too. I'll shock the shit out of whoever came to rob me, because I'd say calmly, "no problem man, you don't need to gun, just chill, wait here for a sec, I'll go get my shit. got about 3 pounds at the moment...looks like you came at a good time. drink in the fridge, you're probably thirsty from all the excitement."

come back with the shit, he probably followed me of course

"can we burn one before you take it all man? just one hit, you can grab the bong, it's behind the couch."

then I'd tell them next time to just come by if they're so strapped for shit, and I'll hook em up with a bag.

hopefully that would make them not want to rob me again.

just a theory, haven't had to use it yet. guns with guns makes a mess though. I kind of got the idea after becoming a father. when a child shows anger, when you react with anger the kid will gauranteed also become more angry. a child can't decern between emotions by themselves, they live by example. by returning anger for anger, the child thinks that anger is completely accepted, and therefore will only escalate the problem. even if it stops the anger temporarily, in the end you're just making it more difficult on yourself.

I kind of think of people that come into rob someone in the same way. everyones all jacked up on adrenaline, and ready for the worst possible anything. and then you get a guy that offers you something to drink, and a hit before you go.

that's my defense. family safety first. take what you'd like. I can grow it again.

I've never thought of robbing anyone, until now...

Yeah, but most stick-ups don't go they way WE want them. THEY control the way things go. Nah, if you be that calm, you'll confused them even more! Robbery is a act that creates a lot of tension and emotions. Its hard to process the most simple things....time seems suspened....adrenaline is racing through your body in heighten levels...the shit is stressful on both ends...you're dealing wtih a desperate person who just said "fuck it" and ran up in your house! He ain't to be played with. Being only robbed is a blessing...some robbers don't leave witnesses!!
