Red face i respect your decision

i am scared of Leo. The blue people occupy too much of my thoughts, the whole 'stealth' thing is because of them and the outdated laws they support.

but rather than succumbing to their fear, suprisingly it has just made me angry at them for the inconvenience they put me through, makes me more determined to beat them.

but then i am self employed, socially independent, my young blokes grown up and i have no respect for the society and world i live in. i have little to lose.

I can understand that in your reality Igottalotapot, you are making a sensible decision. If you are not comfortable doing it, you shouldn't.

Best wishes to you, hope you hang around the garden and read up for when you do start up a grow. have a good day, nigel

if you want to be safe - you say you have a basement - do it there

no way in hell a single 400 watt light will show up if your under the earth and have the entire house above you

if you have an exposed wall not earth covered - just dont put your light close to the exterior wall

even if they were in your house pointing IRD at your floor the heat in your basement would look like some kinda furnace or maybe a gas water heater

id be more worried about smell - just buy a big ass scrubber and pick you strain that isnt super strong smelling (like skunk)

you might also visit norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=4516
web site to see what the penalty is in your state

Yep.The heat shield I saw was put directly on the lights. They wrapped the outside of the reflector and it had no signature after that. You might not want to have 4 black spots that show up in a warm room ,but you could definitly see how it would cut out or down on heat signatures. It isnt that expensive especially if it gives you peace of mind.

theres been some question as to if this stuff actually works

i wonder - if IR can see through your roof attic house and into your basement - how well can a 1/4 thick pc of plastic and alumimn foil work

i got some in hopes that it works but im not so sure

also one more thing - i seen a product sold online at homedepot that looked like the same stuff

it was being sold as insulation - and R value was very low compaired to just plain old batt insul.

frm what i have read its the air gap between 2 forms of insulation that protects you from this type of detection

so the theory behind the film is the air bubles in the middle act as the air gap

if you in the basement - the house above is a bigger air gap and better insulated
then you just need o worry about heat warming up the walls of the basement - which is why you dont grow on exterior wall

grow in middle of room - and then you can insulate that basement from the rest

ya but i dont think your computer puts out as much heat as a 400 watt light bulb

i think your comp puttin gout 400 watts would apply more to electric usage than heat
